No money?! 13:13 - Jan 31 with 11463 viewsr2d2

Evans is richer now than he was when he took over this club. The club is in its worst position for 65 years. Thats down to this so called business man. No money to get players in? Absolute joke. The man is a [libellous comment removed], incompetent owner. So many are taken in by him everytime he makes his yearly stupid statement. His only 5 year plan is to keep making as much as he can and use the club as a good front for his businesses.

Facters is right though.

ME is on record as registering his companies in tax havens and did live abroad for a while, but to accuse him of cooking the books to avoid paying tax is...well, quite a different thing.

He's doing the poster a favour (and this is the kind of thing young Phillip normally stamps down on).

Not sure he's accused him of "cooking the books" quite. The term "tax-dodger" is a pretty common tabloid term to describe non-dom tax avoiders, non?

Ive not once said he is cooking the books. He avoids tax by living abroad. [libellous allegation removed] Everyone knows it. Christ, the papers go on about it weekly. They are always accusing someone.

You've more than once suggested he's using the club as a front.

But are yet to say why and how that works.

Very true. So why doesnt he just sell up to the first person that comes along, if he clearly cant be bothered with the club? Because why hang on if he isnt interested? He could have sold, he has said it himself. So why keep the club if he clearly has no interest in funding it?

There is obviously not a line of of people eagerly waiting to purchase this debt generating business.

I assumed there was an accusation of cooking the books from this statement (we know the average is around £6-7m/yr):

"As for putting millions in, no he doesnt. This 5-6 milli a year is rubbish. More like averages out at around 2 million a year, and thats done for tax purposes, to make things liok good."

But it's hard to follow the meaning of his/her threads, so god knows!

He lives in the country and certainly isn't a non-dom.

To the OP. Why make stuff up? He's putting millions of pounds into the club each year. Of course, we'd all like more, and perhaps there's a strong argument that his time here is up, but there's no need to post nonsense.

Although if the 'post nonsense' option is removed there would be quite a lot less posting done on here, on multiple subjects even including football.

He lives in London.

One or two holding companies might be incorporated offshore (Isle of Man etc) but that's not uncommon. Contrary to seemingly popular belief his companies operating in the UK are UK incorporated and UK tax resident.

Companies House entry for Evans' first company Associated Promotions lists his address as in Bermuda. When he was a director of Ross Group, documents filed revealed that his contract as chairman required him to spend 60 days a year in the UK. Companies House lists his fifteen firms, including his core company The Marcus Evans Group, as all being registered in Bermuda. Marcus Evans is believed to be based in Ireland where his European headquarters are located, although he still owns his two homes in Britain (Kingston upon Thames and Chelsea).[5] Evans resigned all his UK-based directorships in 2000.

However, he does appear on the UK Electoral roll at his London address for the years 2004—2005 and 2008 and he bought the Trewarthenick Estate in Tregony, Cornwall for a reputed £9 million, which is currently being renovated.[21]

He doesn't live abroad. He lives in Surrey, has a property in Cornwall, Ireland and selling another residence in Essex at the moment.

Ultimately its his money, that was used to buy the club.

Its your money to choose whether you put it in to the club.
