Brexit Britain looking confident, outward looking and comfortable with itself. Great stuff.

I'd like to see the UK split into two countries.

We could use that notice right there to decide who goes where.

It would be between those who read it and think it's acceptable behaviour and those who realise it's a disgusting pile of bottom feeding filth.

You’d piss off a lot of Scots, Welsh and N Irish with only 2!

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

I have enough faith in most to read something like that and see the sense.

We could even rejoin the EU.

Edit: We could even run a campaign to convince the Scots that their skin won't burn if they move a few hundred miles to the South.

No, I could easily handle living in a genuinely United Kingdom where we didn't have an us vs them attitude about so many of our own citizens let alone the rest of the world.

Let Tommy, Nige, BoJo and the right-wing media create an "empathy haven" in Middle England for those who think they're special because of where they were born, the colour of their skin and how much they think they're still part of some imperial history in the making.

Wanting to have more control over your country’s borders and trade isn’t racist. It’s called racist by the liberal left who want to crush the debate about immigration and vilify anyone who dares to challenge it. The “liberal left” has now become fundamentalist.

The UK has never lost control of its borders.

How can it still be possible to need to repeat this after all this time?

We are not part of the Schengen area and never have been.

Any lax border controls here have been simply down to choice and the rest used as an excuse to underfund. Border patrol have been complaining for years they don't have enough personnel and craft to cope.

That's not an EU issue.

......... And not forgetting his 'Letter box & 'Bank robber' remarks. He really is not fit for office.

or

“In the Ministry of Sound, the tank-topped bum boys blub into their Pils"

""If gay marriage was OK — and I was uncertain on the issue — then I saw no reason in principle why a union should not be consecrated between three men, as well as two men, or indeed three men and a dog."

And some wonder why footballers don't feel comfortable 'coming out' as gay.

Or don't see the contradiction of having an equality campaign while having (and voting) for a PM who expresses such homophobic words.

It is also quite amusing that when Nige did have an actual policy on immigration, the numbers were uncapped.

It was business that would decide what numbers were needed, not the Government.

The other thing is of course that immigration numbers could be controlled whilst being an EU member.

The whys, ifs, maybes associated with that are open to discussion, but it's another falsehood that the UK has been forced to have some open door policy. It simply isn't so.

So those 2 of the main reasons given are rubbish, which pretty much leaves the so-called sovereignty nonsense and the amount of contributions.

Given most people cannot name half a dozen of these laws that supposedly 'govern' our lives and we know the [roughly average] 9 billion per year is a relative feck-all...

It's all so easily debunked you have to wonder what rock some people have been living under.

It’s pretty much proven that the benefits far outweigh the costs.

Well housing has been an issue, that's inescapable.

I can't be bothered to look for and dig out the research but that was the one thing held in direct relation to the housing crisis. And that's fair enough - more people = a requirement for homes.

But then the argument should be, not to blame immigration, but to ask the government why they haven't been reinvesting some of the revenue raised from people coming here to work.

It always feels like our governments are like that friend we all know who each time gets some money, it burns a hole in his pocket and gets wasted on crap, instead of looking where it could be used wisely.

One project after another and the taxpayers money goes down the drain whilst we are being told not to look at that, but to focus on something else.

We, collectively, are gullible fools.

That's the problem isn't it? Why should this not go viral? Why should we accept it these days?

Plenty of people in Norwich are rightly upset at this and how it makes their city look. But like most provincial places, it has a mix of middle-class lefty types who will be aghast and those emboldened enough to dismiss it or even praise it loudly.

It's not a big incident in isolation, but the context of it shows how broken the country is.

I am not saying that the person doing this shouldn't be dealt with....however soshal meedya seems to act as a megaphone for idiots and then provide a medium for posturing....so where is the positivity in this?

"They break our legs and tell us to be grateful when they offer us crutches."

Simply no proof who’s put them up. Vile as they are

Out of interest, what kind of proof would you accept?

Because proving the political leanings of the person who did this is clearly a huge challenge, and you are aware of that, and of the unlikelihood of it being possible. And so I’m left to wonder why you have set the bar so high?

Although, strictly speaking, I suppose it's more of a Lo-hican.

Interesting and slightly surprising; I have you down as more pro-independence than that. I bet many in the independent movements in Wales & Scotland wouldn’t entertain such an idea, although what do I know? There certainly seems to be a new battle line being down between “the libs” and “the gammons”, exacerbated by Brexit and, bizarrely, Trump.

I know what you mean though, it’s a tempting vision. And I bet that other ‘group’ would feel exactly the same too. Not healthy to retreat into solos though.

Independence is the default option as there's no way the UK is suddenly going to sort itself out despite the warnings from the regions, huge disillusionment and disenfranchisement among the population and a suffocating political system and media.

In fact it's clearly still going even further the wrong way as all that's been hijacked by right-wing populists, disaster capitalists and neoliberal nutters to bring about Brexit and an even worse government. Shockingly.

I think Scotland at least can and should drag itself out of the sh!t-chute while it can. Or at least in attempting to it might bring about the shake-up (and wake-up) the UK needs politically, socially and economically.

There’s a new hair removal salon opened up near us. They’ve a price list in the window that is, frankly, eye watering. It also seems very exposed; all open plan with great big floor to ceiling windows. Some old dear was having something done to her face last time I went past, and I couldn’t help but wonder if a “Manzillian” would be equally as public.

I think I’ll give it a miss.

I bet it’ll close within 6 months.

I think that a semi-public Manzilian is one of the End of Days signs in Revelations.

Or at least it bloody should be.
