Did anyone seriously expect anything better? 🙂

I asked people to name a better breakfast than tea and toast. None have taken the challenge. Lets face it, the full English is pretty sh1te.

There. I said it.

Maybe kedgeree.

But I do also like toast myself, although preferably accompanied by a full English.

Decisions.

Hard work, this getting shot at dawn business.

The fry-up thread was a minefield. So many options, so many opinions. But whichever way you have it, must be said it's one of the best. (But hold the eggs)

I have to say I don't hold too many strong opinions on the inclusion of ingredients for a fry-up.

I'm of the 'if it fits on the plate it's fine' way of thinking.

That's your relaxed attitude towards a fry up but you dare actually suggest people have the right to believe Yorkshires don't belong on the Christmas dinner plate? What sort of sick game is this?

Just seen this, great thread

I’d go for something like:

Breakfast - Probably the hardest choice, having umm’d and ahh’d over omelette or huevos rancheros I think I’d keep it simple and go for a fry up with high quality ingredients (thick meaty bacon an absolute must)

Lunch - Pastrami on rye from Katz Deli, with a side of chips (plus the mountain of pickles it comes with)

Dinner - Full Indian sit down - poppadoms and chutneys, followed by a mixed grill, samosas, pakoras, bhajis then lamb dhansak with coconut rice and peshwari naan

Drink - alcohol wise start drinking with dinner, beer with poppadoms and starter then red wine for the main, and hitting the mojitos after in lieu of desert. May aswell have a celebratory tequila at 8:59 too (Milagro, none of that Jose Cuervo sh*te)

Done

That is a great effort. Lots of thought went into that. Thanks.

Yorkshire puddings absolutely belong on a Christmas dinner plate.

The fry up thread? WTF. I missed that one. Was there lots of arguments about what should or shouldn't be on the plate? For me the following are a must.

BACON- none of that cheap watery sh1t. SAUSAGE- again, good quality ones. BEANS- has to be Heinz. MUSHROOMS. BLACK PUDDING- well done obviously. HASH BROWNS. FRIED BREAD- crispy crusts. TOMATOES- slightly burnt on the edges. FRIED EGG- nice runny yolk. ONIONS- fried with lots of oil. TOAST- with butter and a love big pot of TEA. That always sorts me out on match days. Only away games though, I'm not an animal. I had this on Saturday in Sues Café, wonderful.

I have no problems with Yorkshires myself, but was intrigued to see how many people don't approve.

You can't stop tradition. But you can bend the rules.

And of course the eggs must be extra runny for the Full English. It's only right.

Breakfast - An entire plate stacked with sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs, hash browns, fried bread and toast.

Lunch - Another plate stacked with sausages, a mountain mash and gravy

Dinner - Another plate stacked full of roast beef, Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes and gravy.

An entire tub of mint choc chip ice cream after all three meals.

Screw the veg and fruit where I'm going.

Being shot at 9pm would put me out of my heartburn nightmare.

Breakfast: Birchermuesli

Lunch: Onglet steak and French fries like the best French places do them

Dinner: the hottest lamb phall curry imaginable, with pilau rice and a vindaloo-strength tarka dhal. Washed down with a gallon of Old Peculier served out of a wooden cask.
