Yes you are. You are posting incorrect science and labelling it fact. I'm also sick of this "opinion" rubbish. It's not valid to hold an opinion as equal or equivalent when it's fundamentally wrong and provably so. That is the bucket into which your opinions posted in this thread fall and thus claiming some kind of equivalence for your "opinion" is wrong. SB

What are you doing any differently that is not already good hygienic practice, good manners and controllable? The country will grind to a standstill with the fake fear, fake fear perpetuated by those like you, shall all the High voltage electrical engineers self quarantine? If we do far more people will die than those killed by Coronavirus.

I am actually. I am sick and tired of people talking utter rubbish on here as if their opinion, which is without scientific basis or fact, is equal to that of experts in their fields or people who just do attempt to back up their opinions with evidence. You've still not supported any of your points. You've not said why it's "fake fear". You've just posted some non-equivalences (for instance a high voltage engineer has training to mitigate the risk). You've really got no idea what you're talking about so best to stop or actually answer peoples direct requests for evidence. I don't really get your stance. If things can be done to minimise the risk and stop the virus circulating until a vaccine is developed and mass produced then why shouldn't they be done? SB [Post edited 8 Mar 2020 9:07]

No, I back up what I post with evidence when and where it's required. You don't do anything of the sort. You just say your opinion carries as much weight as other peoples and that just isn't the case if you can't back it up. You've not said how it's fake fear after being asked 3 times. How does the r0 of Covid 19 compare to other pandemics? What are your thoughts on that? What are your thoughts of varying mortality rates amongst different genetic groups? What are your thoughts on initial studies citing possible long-term lung damage? SB

Well luckily for us all every scientific fact about this virus is available via rolling media coverage! As an aside....You not surprised that at least some African nations aren't in full melt down yet considering how much of a Chinese presence there is in many nations? Any thoughts on why Italy would have it so bad....relatively speaking? I am pretty much convinced now... on 08:19 - Mar 8 by GaryCooper | Cruises are for the newly wed, the over fed and the nearly dead. |
There are specialist themed cruises where a company charters the ship. Highly recommended especially those with a music theme. Hopefully off to Miami in two weeks for Flower Power Cruise. With all the screening that is taking place should be healthiest cruise have been on. Checks for fever and oxygen levels in blood for all passengers and crew. The same company did a rock and romance cruise last month 600 passengers and crew went down with the flu. Think it was Stokie who made a comment about the risks of so many people in a confined space but no different to going to a music weekend at Butlins. 5,000 at Skegness this weekend shoe-horned Into two arenas. Been there, done that but no longer possible as it just isn’t wheelchair friendly for Mrs Pinewood. Someone else mentioned cruise ship in Africa. That was a Nile cruiser only 150 passengers done that as well only problem is you stand a good chance of getting a sh1tty bug at the best of times.

There are many reasons for that. Chinese contractors would likely have been back in China for New Years or would not have been allowed back. You don't just catch it because you're Chinese, Chinese people got it because Wuhan is in China - these are very different things. Given this your point isn't really a valid one. I would also say it's likely rife in some parts of Africa but testing is 15-20 days behind the true outbreak numbers and even then how many testing kits do you think many African countries have? Could be many reasons why Italy have it so bad. Firstly it seems to have been there longer - from mid-January according to some reports. They could also have a genetic disposition, the areas it's affecting could be full of older people, greeting each other with a kiss on the cheek probably didn't help. There are a multitude of possible reasons. I would also say Italy probably doesn't have it worse than anyone else. They are just a month further along the curve compared to the rest of Europe. SB Edit: If you're not pushing a conspiracy theory then what was the nonsense about us being tracked everywhere and knowing where we are when WFH? Cooper is definitely pushing conspiracies saying the media are spreading fake fear. [Post edited 8 Mar 2020 9:17]

Check what is happening in Italy. Over 1,000 new case in one day. Around 200 deaths and number rising rapidly. 16 million now in lock down including Milan, the financial heart of the country, and Venice. Doubt Ferrari will be at Australian GP as their base is in the lock down area. Wise up don’t ignore the evidence.

Actually this would probably be beneficial for CO2 emissions too ! |

Apologies if you see it that way, not my intention. Just pointing out that unless the Chinese people working in Africa had been back for New Year (which seems unlikely) then there is no reason that African countries should have it more than anywhere else. It will get there through the same vectors as it got to Europe. SB
