Assumption is to make an ass out of you and me.
Those who assume they know you, when they don't are just guessing.
Those who assume and insist they know are daft and in denial.
Those who assume, insist, and deny the truth are plain stupid.
Those who assume, insist, deny the truth and tell YOU they know you (when they don't) have an IQ in the range of 35-49.
Pronouns: He/Him/His.
"Imagine being a heterosexual white male in Britain at this moment. How bad is that. Everything you say is racist, everything you say is homophobic. The Woke community have really f****d this country."

Noone has actually advocated a ban have they?
I think that thought policing is inherently abhorrent and for that reason alone would never advocate a ban. Though policing should remain the preserve of the religions!

As a Christian and a regular Church goer. I find this incredibly strange.
If you don't believe in it, that is fine, but banning religion. Wow, very very strange, leave people be.
If you listen to Hichens he gives chapter and verse from the bible as to the hypocrisy of christianity.
This isn't an angry finger pointing piece. It is a debate on the validity of religions and the harm they cause.
That's a short piece highlighting child cruelty by the Jewish religion.
The second one is priceless.

There are good and bad bits of religion. Bits I agree with and don't agree with. Many people will tell me I cant say that, religious people will say that.
But debating the validity of religion seems futile to me as I tend to just leave people to it.

So if a system of beliefs is hypocritical, or simply based on beliefs, it should be banned?
By the way, you didn’t answer the question on whether you voted for a political party that wanted to remove people that sat in Government simply because they were religious.

Problem is that beliefs guide peoples attitudes and actions. Very difficult to think of mainstream religious beliefs which have no knock on effect at all.
Case in point from the pontiff today:
He made the call as he led a prayer at a Mass for visiting clergy at the Vatican, asking priests to have "the courage to go out and visit the sick" and to "accompany the medical staff and volunteers in the work they do".
This appears to contradict official advice from the Italian government, which says people should avoid contact with the sick and try not to travel.
Brilliant advice there, just what we needed.

I cannot see any benefit of religion. The bible talks about inhumane acts of cruelty and that's the start. I find that system of beliefs skin to abusive and cruel.
So to answer your first point, Yes. On the basis of the religious teachings we know that exist they should be banned.
The second point. Would I vote for a party who deliberately targeted people based upon their religion? No. That is cruel and hateful as well.
I'd rather we all got on without the need for overseeing from controlling and brutal deities.
Maybe without all of that we would be a kinder, peace loving, and welcoming world.

I didn’t say religion, I said belief system.
As with the first point, you didn’t understand the second point, so have not answered it.

Fine if religion is not given any special rights. But the problem is an element within the Christian (and other) religious community want to be allowed to discriminate against homosexuals and women and cry out that it’s unfair if they can’t do so. The Catholic Church’s approach to contraception is an abomination that has caused the deaths and suffering of millions. Why should bishops be according special rights to sit in the House of Lords?
Why should religious nonsense in the bible such as creationism be taught in schools and given equivalence to evidence and fact? 40% of Americans believe the world is 6,000 years old. Scary.
If people want to believe in made up claims with no evidence then ok, but the reality is that they lead harm. Even weak tea drinking barely believing Church of England types ultimately condone the extremist elements by failing to condemn them.
