I got a positive test result this morning. 17:23 - May 15 with 16658 viewsPecker

I received the news that I gave a positive test on Thursday. I have none of the symptoms and feel absolutely fine, but 7 days isolation ahead. No idea where or how, as they are really careful at the hospital and I only go shopping once a week. Just as some of the restrictions have been lifted as well. I am sure the Wife and I will be fine, but have to have no contact with the outside world for 7 days. I shall stay off here as much as I can, as not to annoy the hell out of you all. Take care and stay safe.

Edit: It was suggested that my original post was misleading or a lie by one respected and prominent member, so I have corrected. Sorry for any confusion. I can assure you all that it was never my intention to mislead anyone. I hope you all know I would never lie about such a serious and life threatening virus. I shall stay off here for a while, as I am deeply hurt by the suggestion. Take Care Everyone and Stay Safe.

Sorry to hear that... wish you all the best and hope your symptoms don’t emerge and you can just ride it through. If it’s any help to your mindset, KJ is recovering quite well, not even a week after leaving hospital, despite having underlying health issues.

Just in case Pecker isn't checking in, I do recall him saying on another thread that it was Ipswich Hospital.

Ah ok thanks for the information.

Reason I ask is my sister-in-law does it, she started a month or so before all this kicked in and know she went through a couple of weeks of training.

I assume Pecker does it with these guys also https://e-zec.co.uk/.

I’ll have to ask her if she’s been getting tested seeing as they’re entitled to it.

So your usual test before driving this morning was actually your usual test before driving yesterday? It's just difficult to tell what you mean when the thread is called "I tested positive this morning."

I don't want to insinuate you're fibbing, Pecker, but I sort of do.

Lying about contracting covid would be very naughty indeed. Almost as bad as lying about a shoulder injury.

It may seem a shocking allegation at first, but I’ve long held an interest in Pecker. So follow the following if you can...

This time last year, Pecker posted about having injured his shoulder.

He went on to create a series of posts where he is ‘high’ on gabapentin and oramorph.
https://www.twtd.co.uk/forum/455525/page:1

He then says he was signed off work for a month by his doctor.
https://www.twtd.co.uk/forum/455675/oi-pecker!/

About two weeks later he admits the above is a complete fabrication. “Because in real life I do not drive a dark blue Audi and travel alone and my first name is not Richard nor my surname Peck. I am currently off work because I have built up too much holiday leave. I haven't got a damaged shoulder, I am simply on holiday. Now, who do you think has been mugged off?”
https://www.twtd.co.uk/forum/455966/page:4

The next day he explains why he lied about the above. It was something to do with Brexit apparently.
https://www.twtd.co.uk/forum/456004/let-me-tell-you-why-i-did-what-i-did

Fast forward all the silliness in between and we get to yesterday’s thread.

Pecker’s original post stated: “Had my daily test before driving this morning and it came back positive.”

Every frontline NHS worker that I know isn’t tested every day, and certainly not when asymptomatic. This includes those working in the very same hospital where Pecker purports to volunteer.

Same-day testing is not readily available. The fastest is about eight hours, and that’s outside the UK.

Pecker’s OP implied that he had taken a test that morning, the results came back for that day and so he was unable to drive as a result.

I called him on it and he changes his mind to it being Thursday’s tests, not today’s. Now, we all get confused from time to time, but a) not remembering that today is today and not yesterday, and b) the mechanics of your testing schedule seem to indicate that not is all what it appears.

He edited the OP just after 10am this morning to hide that though.

Others who have first-hand knowledge of the situation at Ipswich Hospital also question parts of his account, so I'm not the only one. Mainly on testing but also on speed with which he got permission to drive the ambulance as a volunteer.

I know I'm sticking my neck out here, but thanks for hearing me out. I reckon from the above that Pecker is a troll and has lied about contracting covid-19. One of the obvious clues to his trolling is that he's called Pecker and has been playing some pretty subversive board shennanigans with myself, Spruce and others, which suggests he is not as genuine as some here make out.

The prosecution rests. And if I'm wrong, so help me god. BUT I think anyone caught out lying about something so horrible should be called out if there are question marks.

I suppose you're entitled to your views, but would suggest that unless/until you've got absolute proof of your accusation, it'd be better to back off.

Anyone who genuinely is in the situation that Pecker says he is, really doesn't need the additional stress of a false accusation, nor to spend time dealing with that.

I'm pretty confident in my argument. I mean, if Pecker is the only person at Ipswich hospital who's being tested every day as a volunteer driver despite being asymptomatic, and there being a shortage of such tests available for doctors and nurses, then I'll gladly hold my hands up.

But it seems more likely that you've been had.

I'm not much, but I can claim to be an expert on Pecker. And this porkie was a step too far.

So your argument is that volunteer drivers at Ipswich hospital are the only frontline medical staff in the hospital who are tested on a daily basis despite being asymptomatic? Maybe sitters' sister-in-law could clarify whether that's the case. Be exceptional if true.

Pecker's original, unedited post stated: "Had my usual test before driving this morning and it came back positive" implying the test was carried out that morning, processed and he was declared unable to drive that day.

He then changes his mind to Thursday, not Friday and edits the OP this morning.

The thread is called "I tested positive this morning." No mention of Thursday's result in the OP, only that morning's.

No, I simply asked if you'd had contact with other people in the same group as he is, ie volunteer drivers, who'd be able to either verify that they are tested daily, or refute that they're tested daily. The latter would obviously prove you right, hence my asking you.

His mix-up when posting about the dates is something anyone might do, esp if tired - just the sort of thing I'd be likely to do tbh!

Daily tests aren't being carried out for doctors and nurses in that hospital. They are only tested if symptomatic, which Pecker said he wasn't. The idea that non-essential staff would be tested on a daily basis is far wide of the mark.

And then there's the testing time. Pecker's OP implied it was a test taken on that day which came up positive. This is not possible under current conditions.

It's nice you want to believe an avatar on the internet called Pecker who you don't know, but his story compared to what we know from real people on the frontline suggests it's full of holes.

I don’t agree with Footers on much but one thing I know for sure is he is not daft ... and the account Peckers has given is odd at best and a strange fabrication and outright lie at worst from a troll or narcissistic. My daughter and son are both on the frontline and they have had zero test in 8 weeks and daughter has been in yellow zone working many times. Very odd a driver is tested daily ?? Maybe Pecker can add to this and if I am wrong I apologise and blame footers for his well thought through beliefs!! I also find it repugnant that somebody could come up with this type of rubbish so disrespectful to all those actually working under extreme risk daily in hospitals.
