Has anyone on here got a Wattbike? 10:14 - Jun 14 with 3088 views | davblue | Thinking about getting one for the winter months, so I can keep my training up and not have to start from scratch each March time.

Has anyone on here got a Wattbike? on 13:08 - Jun 14 with 2884 views | azuremerlangus | Used a Wattbike extensively for training but never owned one. I think they are worth the investment and a much better option than joining Peleoton. As think rollers also worth having a go at - they do take some practice but make you concentrate on your balance and therefore core strength gets a workout too.

This. Wattbikes are clearly excellent but at £2.2k are very unnecessary. You can pick up a seriously good smart trainer for £600 and spend the balance on a road bike to attach to it and use outside when weather permits.

My thoughts. Am looking into that post rehab and into the colder months.
| Assumption is to make an ass out of you and me.
Those who assume they know you, when they don't are just guessing.
Those who assume and insist they know are daft and in denial.
Those who assume, insist, and deny the truth are plain stupid.
Those who assume, insist, deny the truth and tell YOU they know you (when they don't) have an IQ in the range of 35-49.

No. So far I have just been using the programmes that are part of the WattHub. There are probably a few that could see you over the winter months. I don’t think I am likely to go off and get a subscription for a Zwift like service for more programmes for a while. And the WattHub has few famous climbs as well. I have the Atom by the way. I had used the original version a couple of times in the past, but prefer the Atom, and connecting the iPAD and watching TV for some of the dull parts of a session has been good.

Have you tried Zwift? It is absolutely awesome, assuming you are into cycling. Especially the races as they have excellent tactics, drafting dynamics, sprint finishes.

No, not yet. I’ll wait until I reach a boredom threshold, and then try it.

I use Wattbikes in the gym - hell that saddle is nasty! I now have a Nordic GX 4.4 Pro at home, about £600. Really sturdy (weighs 50kg), and absolutely great for simple cardio stuff. I haven't explored so the various programs or connectivity but am on a mix of endurance and Hiit / sprints.

I use Zwift at least 3 times a week (as well as riding outside), have done some workouts (created custom ones), took part in a few races (will do more), love riding up Alpe Du Zwift and doing the Time Trial section.. Have you discovered the Trainer Difficulty setting yet? :-)
