Just been released, was signed by Lambert at Blackburn. Fits the mould for the type of striker we need.

i never really understand that, we are 70mins from London on the train, its not lightyears away from civilisation

Me neither. That excuse never surfaces over here and Swansea’s far more out of the way. I suspect it’s more to do with one or more of us being crap, or playing god awful ‘football’ or paying peanuts over the last decade or so.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

But not many who do live here pop up to London for a drink? In reality it may not be too far away, but it's a day trip, not a night out. Footballers are young, generally uncomplicated folk and if they're in search of a lively evening they want it where they live.

In the last few days that’s Danny Graham and YaYa Toure.

In reality we’ll end up with Louis Spence and Timmy Mallet.

What you're actually saying that they're young blokes, flush with cash who are looking for birds, booze and bright lights.

Suffolk, despite all it's many fine qualities is not renown for any of them, I can fully understand why guys in their twenties think there might be better places to live, and that's before football even comes into it.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

I think you are agreeing with me? Though far be it from me to offer it in such direct, no-nonsense language.

Couple of seasons ago I met Danny Graham and Richie Smallwood walking up to Ipswich train station after the first game of the season. Was with my parents, little boy and my mums cousin, who is a Blackburn fan. They were both decent guys and had a chat with my mum's cousin.... Graham is from the North East, so doubt he'd ever come down here. He played well against us that day, went off injured though

Good day that, or at least it could have been. Great atmosphere and Edwards scoring inside five minutes.

Wonder if we'd won that how Hurst's time would have turned out. The monkey would have been off his back from day one.

Poll: Pick a goal to win the derby in stoppage time...
