Proper hills for cycling 11:32 - Aug 1 with 2869 viewsbluelagos

Was suppowed to be cycling Ditchling Beacon in Sussex today but a dodgy tummy means I am going nowhere, all day. Shame as it is a tasty climb....

Anyone know any Suffolk based climbs they can recommend?

Hartest Hill in Hartest. c.15% at its steepest https://veloviewer.com/segment/1859337/Hartest+Hill+Climb

Watson's hill near Semer. Actually quite a famous climb https://veloviewer.com/segment/16298353

Ballingdon Hill Sudbury. Good climb but busy road

Primrose hill in Moulton near Buryish Newmarket. Without doubt the best local climb for West Suffolk. https://www.climbbybike.com/mobile/climb/Primrose-hill/18209. Ousden hill is very close to this so you could do the double.

All great. Obviously if you are looking for Alpine climbs you won't find them but any if these full gas will get the legs burning.

Swan hill Washbrook but beware inconsiderate motorists, but suppose you need to get used to those as well.

Higham Hill and Sulleys Hill, but I am sure you are familiar with them already as both in Lower Raydon.

I am. The one out of Higham scares me as is too narrow (unclipping uphill is a bit beyond my confidence level) which is a shame as is nice and close to me too.

The old A12 in Copdock was my favourite to do hill training on. Few cars, 2 lanes and easy to do multiple loops on.

I've seen some nuts stuff on Swan Hill. The number of peope who can't wait a few seconds and would rather overtake on a blind bend beggars belief.

There are a few short but sharp ones around the Kedington/Hundon area. They are near Haverhill to non locals.

I know of plenty of routes without hills.

Much more pleasant for cycling. Hills are best avoided going up - or down

I cant recommend them as hills,as well the going up them bit isnt that much fun :) but if you are looking for hilly rides, the best advice is head west suffolk,Hadleigh/Lavenham kind of way as it gets much lumpier out there.

Hartest Hill is suffolks steepest hill I think, averages 4.4% but hits 15% at one point.

Watsons Hill is used by Sudbury cycling club for their hill climb event, the B1078 into Bildeston is pretty steep.

I know even its technically just in to Essex but Brantham Hill/Coxs Hill are pretty steep, and if you linked up with going via Cattawade to Hadleigh I think there are some hills there too.
