Guess that tells you what you need to know about Garbutt - this would be a very good addition.

Highly experienced and good quality player

35 in 10 days' time ... would still worry a bit that left-back is juggle between an ageing (but decent) player and someone in Kenlock who isn't quite up to it. We never quite get the profile of that position right, ever.

This could only be a short term fix , so what is the point ?

We have tried old pros , but they are liable to pick up injuries and a full back needs to be pretty mobile if up against fast wingers .

We should be looking to build a squad for more than just a year .

I’d have Nydam in ahead of Kenlock now tbh.... I know he’s been injured but he seems a much better prospect. Initially I had high hope for Kenlock when Knudsen left but he seems to have gone backwards. Can’t recall the last time I saw him play .....

Although Nydam would also be good on the left of a midfield 3. Pre-injury at least, he had lots of bite and enthusiasm to win the ball and get on the front foot.

Hope he doesn't become a victim of his versatility and is just seen as a utility player down the left and central midfield.

Is he bringing Christine and Mandy with him?

I was just going to say didn't he top himself in 1963.

I get what you mean about the problems a utility player faces, but with the cap/crap/clap a utility player may be viewed as gold dust as squads will need to be smaller

Blimey, how old are you? That was 59 years ago.

Probably makes him more mobile than some in our squad then!
