Whilst much of Wales look like it's stuck in the 80's the north/northwest coast is lovely, and Snowdon is pretty nice.

Its great to spend a day in with kids - loads of stuff to do.
Good value for the less well-off tourist.
Some of it's buildings are very pretty too.

As will all other towns and villages with delusions of grandeur its to do with putting one over the neighbours. And a bit easier to remember than alternatives like 'the bigger of the two villages that might one day grow into towns at the mouth of the yare.' |
