Proper weird response, wasn't it?

Also, am I hard left or a tory? I wish TWTD would hurry up and decide, it's rather confusing.

Clearly not bugged you enough over all those years to google it for a few secs?

As will all other towns and villages with delusions of grandeur its to do with putting one over the neighbours. And a bit easier to remember than alternatives like 'the bigger of the two villages that might one day grow into towns at the mouth of the yare.'

Those snail rides?

I LOVED them when I was a kid - think they are still there as a couple of years back, two of my friends who had come down for our wedding decided to have a little break round Suffolk/Norfolk and got sent a video of them on this ride.

There's a reason there's a Great in front of Yarmouth. Yes, it's because it was called Magna (Great) in 1272 in the reign of Edward I, to distinguish it from Little Yarmouth, now known as Southtown across the river Yare.

Here's a 3 second google for you. Anything else?

I was responding to Keno's post as it goes rather than yours specifically. A couple of people seem to not have grasped that the question hasn't genuinely been bugging him for years. Perhaps you were one of them, perhaps not.

OK. You're replying to Keno's reply to my post so it suggested that you were replying to that conversation. I thought that's how this forum worked. Maybe not.

Just admit, you've just realised how ridiculous it is saying what you said when clearly i'm not being serious.

England then.

Wales and Scotland are the reason there's not a Really in front of Great Britain.

Britain = England and Wales.
Great Britain = England, Wales and Scotland.

So Scotland makes us great.

I think I can settle this for you all:

Great Yarmouth is underrated and it's near to Norwich.
Wales is lovely, if a bit wet
Scotland is also lovely, but also a bit wet
England is of course varied and wonderful and less wet if you stay on the correct side of it.

Has anyone ever looked at their own postings for last day or so? Oh my... so sorry. Was Ullaa

It's no surprise you like Wales, they make the Norfolk gene pool look positively broad.

Its great to spend a day in with kids - loads of stuff to do.

Good value for the less well-off tourist.

Some of it's buildings are very pretty too.

umm... and it has lots of shops for people in surrounding villages.

ummmmmm, It's near the broads?
