What a bunch of idiots, grouping like that and fighting with the police when the R rate is possibly as much as 1.5.

Easier to find Wally than a mask in that picture.

Nice to see they have included mass vaccinations in their list of evils even though they can't possibly know what is in the vaccine or how it is made given there isn't one yet.

Look at the absolute state of this in Liverpool:

Is it time the police are told to start enforcing the rules with mass fines? Or do we hope that people change their behaviour even though there is no sign of that happening.

Or is it simply a lost cause because the rules weren't initially clear and now a lot of people just don't care?

SB

Well, at least we now know that if a super lethal virus ever comes along all humans will be dead within weeks because of selfish tits going on holiday, having pub crawls and crying about having to wear a mask in public.

We really are a most despicable species at times.

Time to start cracking some skulls maybe. I jest of course. I think mass fines might be an option but very tough to do in a situation like that where there's literally hundreds of people breaking the rules.

I think a big part of the problem is that the government prioritised self-preservation over moral authority. You can't tell people to follow the rules on the one hand whilst insisting with a straight face that Cummings was following the rules of lockdown in driving halfway across the country and back with Covid symptoms. Then you have Gove going to Pret without a mask the day after telling us all that not wearing a mask in shops was incredibly selfish. The government's response? To clarify that you don't actually need a mask in a takeaway so it was all fine, followed of course by the inevitable u-turn.

I appreciate that shouldn't be an excuse for people to be bellends but when the very people meant to be leading us through this crisis are flouting the rules and insisting that it's fine and giving out constant mixed messages then it can't be too much of a surprise when other people decide the rules don't really apply to them either. When you act like a bunch of exceptionalist w@nkers you tend to end up with an electorate that sees itself in the same image.

Agree with all of that but I think there has to be a time where enough is enough regardless of the fools in charge.

Agree it's hard to fine them all but perhaps one high profile operation with a lot of police and 200-500 GBP fine for every person might make others take note across the country.

Won't happen of course and I can't see anything except a national lockdown again soon if that's being repeated across the country. Hard to see how that will work with schools open though and I don't think many want them closed again.

Also seeing a number of people saying they will ignore the rule of 6 at Christmas so the government need to be ready to be clear on that one way or the other but of course they won't be.

Agree, I think clearly giving the impression that the rules are voluntary won't cut it anymore and they will have to start enforcing them. It's a shame as early on it felt like lockdown was being pretty well observed and so enforcement was minimal but because of some of the choices the government has made it leaves enforcement as the only real option.

Need to make an example. Next weekend they should hand out maximum fines to anyone breaking the rules.

Sadly most of these people will only listen when it starts to hit them in the pocket.

You cannot trust the British public to act sensible. It has been proven time and again, so enforcement will have to be used.

No mate, wasn’t there. I would imagine a lot of them have lost their livelihoods due to Covid restrictions so do have some sympathy with their frustrations

‘But don’t blame us’ say the young people! So I’m assuming that these and other vids I’ve seen are all oldies in disguise. I’ve chatted with a few who say they just don’t see why they should social distance and what difference it makes to anyone else. One uni student didn’t see any problem in ignoring social distancing and then going into shape or the town to mix with all ages.
Sigh!

if anyone's lost their jobs, it's because of the spread of a pandemic.

spreading that pandemic further and faster isn't going to bring their jobs back.

if that's their issue then have some concern for your fellow humans and wear a mask!

Judgemental about people breaking actual rules?

What an incredibly odd post.

Why have rules at all then? Perhaps you quite like the look of the neighbours car - just go help yourself.

Political protests are exempt. I’m in no way equating the two here but it’s the same rule that allowed the BLM protests

That's not correct.

Protests can be granted permission which states they have to wear masks and engage in social distancing where possible.

This protest did none of those things as you can see from the picture and thus the permission was revoked. How many masks can you count in that picture with about 200 people in it? I am struggling to see 1.

Oh ok, you are clearly more familiar with the rules than me. I’m assuming that’s why it was broken up and shut down. I was never wholeheartedly supporting them, I was just saying I have some sympathies with their frustrations

You're a moral mess mate.

You going on a fûcking pissed up pub crawl and foreign holiday literally the second it was viable has had far more impact on the situation that they're in. If anyone holds them in contempt, it's you, by refusing to grow up and modify your behaviour.

"But Boris said it was OK". There. I've said it for you so you can save your breath.
