How do you start your day in these crazy Covid times (particularly those WFH)? 11:08 - Sep 30 with 9233 views | BrixtonBlue | Today I went for my normal run round the park (which is 5 mins walk away), but took a different route and stopped to walk through a bit of woodland. It's lovely walking through the woods early, when there's few people about, just birds tweeting and squirrels running around, plus you get to breathe in the lovely and beneficial phytoncides from the trees and plants, AKA the ancient Japanese art of tree bathing. After another bit of a run and stopping by the supermarket for a loaf of rye and mixed seed sourdough bread, some fresh orange juice and some oat milk, I got home and had a shower before my morning slice of lemon squeezed into a cup of boiling water, followed by a bowl of Shreddies with the oat milk, while listening to a bit of smooth lounge jazzzzz. Then I'm refreshed and ready to start my day. I'd definitely recommend getting out and travelling as if you're going to work, and even better if you can do it via a bit of nature.

How do you start your day in these crazy Covid times (particularly those WFH)? on 15:42 - Sep 30 by Ace_High1 | Sounds good but not sure how people have the time unless you work rigidly 9-5. I find the time between 7am and 8:30 are a nice window when I can get some work done before the phone/emails and meetings begin. I have found that when working from home I start earlier but then at least I can then finish by around 6/6:30 and that way have a couple of hours leisure in the evening. Issue with that this time of the year is by that time I don't want to go out as its wet, dark and cold! |
Yeah, my hours aren't very rigid. Probably started around 10 today.

Is there a similar thing that makes tea? If there is you might've solved my Xmas pressie dilemma for the missus.

Teasmaid (made?). We've had one for years. Fresh cup ot tea in bed every morning to wake us up. And even on mornings that we don't need an alarm it's handy just to switch it on and get (almost) instant tea. (Takes about 10 minutes actually)

Was it any good though, automated tea? Could you set for how long the bag's in? Was there a little claw that pulled it out?

Well yes, I am a present, she's a very lucky lady. But I make her tea all the time, I think she'd be a bit gutted if I just made her a cup and said Merry Christmas.

"The milk would need to be added separately." Well that's pretty pointless then! If I have to get up to go to the kitchen for the milk I might as well make the tea while I'm there!

How do you start your day in these crazy Covid times (particularly those WFH)? on 19:38 - Sep 30 with 2803 views | WeWereZombies | I have been getting worse and worse at just staying in bed until lunchtime but got going early this morning as I wanted to book a swim session (most sensible one available was five minutes before midday), had left the chromebook downstairs in purpose so that I had to get up, which pushed me to have breakfast downstairs as well - small cafetiere yielding two cups of espresso (only coffee I drink sugared) and a small bowl of cornflakes augmented with eight decent sized blackberries from the garden. Then pottered around for a couple of hours and avoided going back to bed, drove to pool and had my first swim in six and a half months - socially distanced in the slow section and limited to forty five minutes, still managed thirty seven lengths. Genetically modified self milking cow? If you are going down that route may I suggest that it is also miniaturised so that it has just enough milk for the amount of tea in the Teasmaid and can also live in an open topped and grass lined aquarium on the bedside table. Train it right and it will learn to moo only at getting up time and then you can do away with the alarm clock...
