Injuries at Town - Mane, Salah, Firmino 09:41 - Oct 1 with 3411 views | OsborneOneNil | The 3 Liverpool lads play every single game. Don’t seem to have missed a game in 2 years. How is that possible when we can’t keep players fit for more than 3 games.

Injuries at Town - Mane, Salah, Firmino on 12:52 - Oct 1 by itfc_bucks | Have you seriously just compared Nors to Harry Kane??? |
Think you kinda missed the point there silly! I compared them in terms of length of time out and how one comes back sharp, in shape and raring to go.... and the other.... not so much.

Injuries at Town - Mane, Salah, Firmino on 11:41 - Oct 1 by OsborneOneNil | Indeed. Wasn’t being a stato (like some), it was something that struck me on Monday when the Liverpool 3 lined up again for what seems like every game. (I now appreciate it‘s not EVERY game, but you get my point) |
it was a fair point, over the last few years we seem to have had an endless stream of long term injuries. In some cases it is understandable, we bought an injured Huws because he was a quality player and we could only afford him due to his injuries. Generally it seems a complete mystery why it happens, it's not even old crocks it is happening to, Morris, Dozell, Nydam and Bishop are all decent young players that never seem to be available. It only seems to have been a thing over the last few years as well, have we cut back on sports science or medical care over the last few years or something?

A small point and you’re not the only person who’s done this, but apart from the season he missed with his cruciate injury, Dozzell has never really had much of an injury record. He may have struggled to get picked in past seasons, but he’s been far more available for selection than most of those you’ve named.

Injuries at Town - Mane, Salah, Firmino on 09:57 - Oct 1 by patrickswell | Money for recovery and fitness must play its part. It’s the only reason I can think of, best encapsulated by Andre Gomes suffering a broken/dislocated ankle for Everton and being fit again within 4 months, while this month might possibly/maybe/if the wind’s blowing in the right direction see Tristan Nydam return from a similar injury after 15 months out (and 4 months before Gomes suffered his). |
If Money was key then why does Aguero spent a large proportion of time on the treatment table. I just think we have had a bad run of seasons with Injuries and to be fair it's the youngsters which get affected more as they adapt to the rigors of first team football.

Is it that weird? Professional football is pretty unforgiving physically and I think quite a lot of young players have big injuries early in their careers. [Post edited 1 Oct 2020 16:40]

Injuries at Town - Mane, Salah, Firmino on 11:43 - Oct 1 by jayessess | They've had recurrent injuries for some of their other players though. Lallana and Oxlade-Chamberlain could barely get a run of games. Joe Gomez has had several significant injuries. Alisson, Matip, Fabinho, Keita, all missed multiple games last year. Their resources make a big difference in terms of paying for equipment and expertise for both conditioning and recovery. They also enable them to avoid taking risks on players with a history of injury problems. Finally, it's much easier to offload an injured player on a big contract when you're top of the food chain, because your cast offs are star players for mid-table Premier League clubs that are still wealthy enough to buy them. Liverpool could quietly recoup their losses on Danny Ings in a way we can't with Emyr Huws or James Norwood. |
Indeed, they have been lucky to keep Firmino, Mane and Salah fit for as long as they have and they know it themselves Hence why they have brought in Jota to supplement them a little bit. I thinks they also have a Japanese player they had signed who they have high hopes for?
