This petition set up by Dorking Wanderers last night seems to have got a bit of attention on Twitter. I think that football games are to be shown in Vue cinemas yet (very reduced capacity etc.) pilots have not restarted at outdoor stadiums says it all, really.

I live in Düsseldorf and go to watch Fortuna , the first home game they allowed 20% of capacity IE 10800 spectators the actual attendance on matchday was less than 6000, speakng to other fans the reasons for not going were location of stadium which requires the majority to travel by u bahn, which peple were not prepared to do, congregation of fans in Aldstat bars prior to match and also the social distancing within the stadium. I watched it on tv, they had installed seating in the standing section to help with distancing, at kick off social distancing appeared to be working but as the match progressed you could see large pockets of fans forming and social distancing disappearing the majority of fans i have spoken to do not want to take the chance of contracting and passing on this terrible virus and are prepared to wait till better times arrive.How much longer attendance at football in Germany is allowed i do not know but with the rise at the moment of cases here i think it might not last for much longer. |
That's the one positive we have is that we can see what other countries do to see what happens.
Unfortunately, our hapless govt seem to keep making a hash of things even with foresight. |  |

It's a fair point that many are going to want be one of those fans allowed in though.
It could only be season ticket holders to start with, so those would have to be capped if there's a clamber for those next year, if measures are still in place. I'm not sure how many fans are required in the ground to make it financially viable opening up.
How does a club weigh up the risks involved in travel? A club can't police how people get to and away from the grounds.
I have to say I thought maybe it would be possible to get a few more into the grounds myself, but hadn't really given a great deal of thought to the rest of it.
If people had shown themselves to be more responsible leading up to now, maybe things would be a lot different for all of us. |  |

Here in Germany each state controls their own restrictions regarding the virus and as long as the R factor does not rise above a certain figure they are allowed to manage , so they can set their own limits the federal goverment just keeps an overall watch, so some less populated states have fewer restrictions i watched Holstein Kiel play the other night they limited the crowd to 300 to see how things go and seeif it affected the R rate, but also i dont want to criticse the uk but it seems to be the restrictions are better observed here, just read a newspaper saying in Berlin alone 35000 fines have been issued for contravening cvoid restrictions. |  |

To be fair in the early days here the vast majority stuck to the rules rigidly, however apathy and the fact that a large number of Politian's have flaunted the rules has left lots of people taking the "if it's good enough for them it's good enough for me" approach. | |

Spent last week in the Harz mountains (lower Saxony?) and the German's are much hotter on compliance around CV than the UK. I saw shop keepers, petrol staff, hotel staff challenging anyone without a mask and telling people of pull them over their nose if they dropped down.
Some restuarants had reduced capacities and they were sticking to it/ turning away customers when the capacity was reached. All bars were table service and trips to the toilets were with a face covering. And sanitiser was available on entry everywhere.
Nearly forgot, my details were recorded for even a 10 minute coffee and fines were raised to 10k euros we were told for giving false details. |  |
