Are you happy with them? Is there anything that you think they have done well? Do you regret it?

I don't think its fair to conflate voting for a party with being ok with everything they do before or after.

I voted Labour. Following that logic, then I'm ok with anti-semitism, and the piss-poor response to it from the leadership; the lack of campaigning against Brexit from the leader and the terrible Brexit fudge to avoid confronting the issue, in an election that was all about Brexit; the deselection of centrist candidates and factionalism surrounding the leader; the piss-poor leadership in general that struggled to unite the party, let alone a country badly in in need of it.

Hint: I'm not actually ok with any of the above.

Hell, I voted for Blair. That sure as hell doesn't mean I was ok with the Iraq war!

Sometimes you have to vote for the party most-closely aligned to what you believe in and hold your nose to the rest of it. Doesn't mean you agree with everything they say or do.

Hmmm that was one reading of it. The evidence is a bit shaky though.

I think there’s a lot more evidence of the leadership’s factionalism and lack of principles this time around with Starmer. And I’m not really sure I can hold my nose and vote for Labour as I don’t even think their political values chime with mine any longer anyway.

Let’s see where we are in 2024 but my prediction is that Labour is going to get outflanked again on the major issues that are being driven by others.

First Corbyn out. Then Trump. Now Cummings. It’s an early Christmas for centrists.

Good podcast on spiked which sums up my thoughts on Trump and the crazed anti-trumpers perfectly.

2/3 of those things made lefties happy too, and arguably 3/3 made the centre-left happy.

Maybe if we focused on making alliances with people who's political beliefs aren't actually all that different, instead of falling-out over which version of not-being-an-asshole is best, then we could prevent people like Trump from being electable at all?

But nah...there's internet points to be won

I agree with this. I didn’t vote for this shower, nor did I vote for Labour. If I’d have been forced to choose, I could never have voted for Corbyn. For me it comes down to the ‘least worst’. I did vote for Brown, Blair, Major (kinnocks victory celebration switched me off) and Thatcher twice. I think that makes me utterly clueless for a lifetime. Hey ho, give the vote to a pleb and that’s what you get!

Wow, thought you were staunchly conservative and would vote LD as a secondary option. Why the change to Labour? (The reasons away from Conservatives are pretty extensive under this government, so not so interested in the push reasons.)

‘Course he did. He’s the poster boy for anti-socialism.

But more importantly, the members voted mostly for the socialist candidates.
