Christmas Bubbles: Help Me! 12:57 - Nov 28 with 932 viewsSwailsey

I’m so confused but want to do things right.

So, here’s the sitch:

Me and Mrs Swailes live together.

I want to see my parents.
My parents are also seeing my sister (but I won’t be).

Mrs Swailes wants to see her mum.
Her brother is staying with her mum from the 23rd.

Therefore, for this to work, in full keeping with the rules:

1) Mrs Swailes and I have to separate between the 23rd and 27th. I stay at the house, she goes to her mums.

Ignoring all personal thoughts about risk/likelihood of illness etc, is that technically correct?

OR, 2)

Could we ensure we don’t see anyone at ALL between the 23rd and the morning of the 25th, then separate to see family?

It’s 1 isn’t it

Thanks and joy.

The rules and the practicality fairly summed up.

Most will take the Cummings approach of doing whatever they think is right and probably would have done whatever the rules.

I do not have any answer but whatever you do, try to stay as safe as possible.

Genuinely looked on this thinking you wanted advice on sparkling wine, shows where my mind is.

As said previous, do what you’re comfortable doing, whether within the rules or not, no one is going to report you if you stay with your missus until Christmas morning and then go to your respective parents and reunite at a point when you want.

I haven’t fully got my head round any logistics yet, but given that I thought, until I zoomed in, that you were asking advice about Christmas baubles... I probably wouldn’t have been much help anyway.

I think in instances like this, it’s important to approach it with the attitude of “What would Colin do?”

I have no idea and trust your judgement to keep safe whatever you choose.

I would say one thing to people though. We are so close to the end. Don't take risks if you can help it. Restrictions should be significantly reduced by Easter.

Whatever you choose, good luck and stay safe.

If you make a £5,000 donation to the tory party, you can do whatever you want.

Put some locks on the internal doors and claim the house is multiple occupancy - that way you can do a rota on who is in what room when, or rather, who is at which household when.

You can all meet for a picnic on Boxing Day in a nearby park.

Probably.

Tell the Family you can have one big celebration all together in May.

In the meantime cancel Christmas.

I think if it's a working business lunch, almost anybody can be there.
