Blue Action taking a stand on 22:54 - Dec 4 by Matt_Netherlands | Hardly nonsense though is it? Pretty sure a lot of off field staff are still on furlough, can you see all of these being re-employed once that ends? We “restructured” the scouting set up which usually results in fewer jobs in the world of business, and there were absolutely jobs cut when we got relegated. Point I was making was that ME is a business man. What do businesses do when they struggle? They cut costs. What is one of the biggest overheads for business? Employees. We’ve already trimmed the playing staff, so immediate thoughts go to off field staff.... Deranged rubbish is a bit much. Was just making the point that cancelling a season ticket and restricting revenue for the club is likely to impact everyday people working at the club, as much as it will impact multimillionaire Marcus Evans. |
So staff (maybe) being on furlough and a restructure of scouting with no evidence of job losses is your evidence that staff at Planet Blue will be the next for the chop? Lol. If a businessman wants to cut costs, he'd generally look at higher paid staff, like players, Matt, not someone who's dishing out Portman Pies for a few bob a week. I may be a socialist, but I'm not a wally.

Blue Action taking a stand on 20:50 - Dec 4 by JammyDodgerrr | I can't believe we've come to this point that we are actually boycotting games. I know I am the minority but I just can't get behind it. |
Fans stopped going under MM. This is just more of a concerted effort now things have gone beyond the pale. Given what’s happened this week, what makes you want to go? Each to their own but I couldn’t think of anything worse; a smattering of people in an empty PR watching a disjointed side managed by the delusional and owned by the arrogant. There’s little recognisable of our club to go back to at the moment.

What I mainly heard was an ad hominem attack on 'socialists' generally and no real reply to the points in the main. Can you confirm?

Trimmed the playing staff? We probably have the largest squad in the division, when they are all fit we could field 3 teams! Not sure I agree with your assertion with regards to season tickets. There is a minimum number of people required to run the club, I find it hard to believe we are miles above that as it stands. You've even pointed out that a lot of the jobs have been trimmed already. In the end any loss of revenue has to be made up by ME. SB

But the Labour Party aren't a socialist party by any stretch of the imagination, so I don't really understand what you mean I'm afraid.

I assume he has proof of staff cuts at Ipswich Town which is why he's going on this alt-right tirade against 'socialists', lollypop ladies and Ipswich Borough Council. Otherwise, mad dogs and Englishmen.

I can only imagine you've been living in a cave for the last few years if you honestly believe that statement. I think that anyone who debates from an extreme position in almost any subject ends up being argumentative and critical, mainly because from an extreme position there is no ground to give. "I can only imagine you've been living in a cave for the last few years" Australia, so close. I reckon it's all the sunshine and hormone-injected beef what does it.

Deleted my posts because this is too important a thread to be derailed with a petty political argument - which I acknowledge I started. Just annoyed that I woke up and saw fans criticising others for not cancelling their season ticket. What binds us is our love of ITFC and our anger/frustration/sadness about the state of the club and especially the recent public statements from Evans, O’Neill and Lambert - not to mention their attitude towards Phil. I know I started it, but perhaps you and Footers could consider deleting your responses to me - so we can make sure everyone else doesn’t wake up and get put off by this. We need to be debating what action we take to try and get our club back.

Nah, you made yourself look like a cockwomble because you are one. If you wouldn't mind dropping a few shrimp on this barbie though 'm8' that would be proper fair dinkum etc. I promise that socialists don't want to hurt you. You can relax, especially where you are. https://localgiving.org/fundraising/ITFC-Christmas/ [Post edited 5 Dec 2020 0:51]

You really are something - I didn’t delete it because of what I said, I deleted it because this is an important thread about the future of our club. But sure, double down, don’t accept the olive branch. The problem with constantly seeking to divide is that you end up with virtually nothing.
Blue Action taking a stand on 14:21 - Dec 5 with 2823 views | TRUE_BLUE123 | I really don't get this. The last thing we need right now is more apathy, we have being doing that for the last 10 years, I thought that an actual protest like the lad came up with on twitter seemed long overdue. Its hardly a boycott when there will be 2000 fans in the ground when it opens. It just seems like same old, lets all be bored. There were people on board with that protest, this personally seems an ineffective route to take.

Blue Action taking a stand on 19:21 - Dec 4 by Swailsey | Fantastic. I have just sent the below to the club. I appreciate I should cancel my ST too, but I can’t bring myself to for the reasons I’ve said below. I admire everyone who does though. “Dear ITFC, I will no longer be purchasing ifollow match day passes until PL has left. I am not cancelling my season ticket purely because I love the fact my father and I have sat next to each other there for over 10 years and I cannot lose that, on top of currently losing the club I love. I came very close though and I will not be purchasing my usual raft of Christmas presents from ITFC this year, nor putting any money into the club until this situation changes. Please take notice of all of this. This is significant.” |
Completely misread your first line there CS. Sorry! I do think we're wasting effort on individual responses now though, it's not worked at all. Collective letters, statements, fully endorsed by us all in numbers are the way forwards.
