My grandad used to let leftover yorkshires go cold and put jam on them which I always thought was genius but never tried.

No! Gravy or call the police!

My grandmother used to serve Yorkshire pudding in a dirty great tray with rich onion gravy before the main course of roast beef and all the trimmings. God, it was good.

You do what with stuffing? Not jam surely?

Stuffing with pickle in crusty bread = god's own food.

Thin or thick gravy?

Thick but not glutinous. Rich, not translucent and sufficient body to coat the Yorkshire without turning it to mush. Onions: sufficient without being overwhelming. Best Yorkshire p ever.

As an aside, Old Father Factual and his siblings were born & raised in Lincolnshire, and therefore detested everything about Yorkshire. To them, these delicacies were always batter puddings, not Yorkshires.
