Sky Arts 20:53 - Jan 22 with 2386 views | jeera | What a welcome addition to Freeview. Been a fun hour watching all the old New Romantics and Billy Bragg complaining.

How do you know where he lives? What’s the rest of his street like?

Sky Arts on 22:33 - Jan 22 with 2198 views | DebsyAngel | Recorded it - but had to balance other shows out as recording TOTP 1990 and Sounds Of the 80s at the same time. Love these Trailblazers shows, been brilliant and a great watch and so many good bands. Loved the Goth one a couple of months back and will be sure to love New Romantics too as that is one of my favourite music eras.
Sky Arts on 00:14 - Jan 23 with 2124 views | Ryorry | 'The Art of Drumming' has been absolutely wonderful, what an eye-opener. Have always found it intriguing, but surprisingly, it's never been fully explored before on mainstream TV, as far as I'm aware.

'The backbeat lives in the snare drum'. A drummer* said that. *Mark Lavon Helm

Steve White does a great job there doesn’t he? As someone who lards about behind a kit from time to time, I’ve loved it.

As the old joke goes: 'What do you call somebody who hangs around with musicians?' 'A drummer'.

As you say, an old joke. These days in a professional setting, the drummer is probably the most technically proficient in the band. Triggering samples, layered sounds as well as playing; those drum risers are the brains of the outfit. [Post edited 23 Jan 2021 9:17]

Can't remember his name, but as the guy layering varying patterns of different rhythms using all his 4 limbs in the closing 15 mins last night said, the top drummers these days have to be mathematicians (as well as having almost athletes' standards of fitness!) to work it all out.
