I think Paul Lambert's time was up at Ipswich several games ago, but I don't subscribe to the "losing would be good for the long term of the club" school of thought anymore than I did to "relegation will be better for our long term good".

I don't think that winning tonight and Saturday will mean that he's out of the woods - I reckon it's likely that Evans has already been in contact with other managers. Victories over Crewe and Sunderland would only delay the inevitable, a bit like Hurst's win at Swansea buying him a couple of weeks more time. |  |
