Serious question 07:27 - Feb 13 with 1239 viewsfergalsharkey

This is not meant to sound frivolous but do you think Lambert is OK health wise?
I think there is a chance he is having some sort of breakdown, his behaviour towards the press, his inane ramblings about the team, his selections and lack of real basic set up of the team.
At times he seems deluded and in his own sphere.
He looks atrocious , could be long covid but something either physically or mentally seems off.

He looks less than happy when talking to the local media, looks much more chipper when talking to football focus and the scottish media.

This is something we have discussed in our Whatsapp group. It's difficult to tell from the snippets we see to be honest - they may give a very distorted view. But he is clearly not a happy chappy atm.

I think the 'looking ill' thing has been blown well out of proportion. Yes, he's still feeling after effects from being ill and has got a cough (whether real or fake), and he's basically covered in hat/snood most the time, but did you see him on Football Focus? He's (relatively) fine.

Rightly or wrongly he obviously feels hard done by with the EADT stance etc, and he's clearly not the best at taking direct criticism.

Steve cotterill has been in hospital for 40 days with Covid, and has been in ICU.

He's running things from his hospital bed and doing a good job.

I don't think Lambert's health is great atm, but I think most of the issues you raise would be familiar to Villa fans etc.

Poll: Would Lambert have acheived better results than Cook if given the same resources

Don't think he's having a breakdown.

I think it's pretty straightforward. He's tried his best, been well supported by the owner time wise and still failed - he's a busted flush and knows it. Has nowhere to turn and no-one else to blame so lashes out at the "critical" local media when questioned, who haven't been critical at all to be honest, as he has a stand off with Evans over his pay out.

He’s ok enough to fill his pockets and saunter into the odd press conference when it suits him. No, I think he’s fine, health wise. It’s just that his ability to manage a football team isn’t and maybe he knows it, though I wouldn’t put money on even that.

Looking back, he was clueless right from the start, but got lucky with the ‘free pass’ he got when the club fell out of the Championship without any fight whatsoever. I was idiotic enough at the time to think that he deserved at least half a season in the 3rd division, but I was wrong.

If it's got to the stage where you of all people are questioning Lambert's sanity and delusion, then serious questions must be asked.

He may be suffering from clinical depression.

I think he's suffering with verbal diarrhoea.

We seemed well enough for last week's winning press conference.
But genuinely hope the guy is ok health wise.
