If crowds were allowed in..... 18:45 - Feb 19 with 978 views | gainsboroughblue | What to people think would be happening in relation to Lambert? As far as followings go, we are one of the most tolerant/well behaved in the country, but I can't help thinking that if things were more 'normal', there would have been at least one major pitch protest by now, not to mention a season ticket thrown in face type incident. The ground would be a proper cauldron of hate for that man and in fairness, the absence of crowds have most certainly elongated his stay here. Maybe also, he would have thought twice about being quite so obnoxious in the press? I guess we'll never really know. Well, at least, I hope not as by the time crowds are back, he should be a distant memory.

I agree - we were calling for his head in our final home league games against Fleetwood and Coventry. Providing he hadn’t presided over a miracle he would have been sacked in the summer.

In some ways I'm glad crowds haven't been there, obviously there's pretty much overwhelming support for him going now but there would have been a point where there where 'inners and outers' , town fans fighting and arguing amongst themselves, it's happened before and it's horrible

Social distanced of course. But I'm sure there would be good numbers willing to turn up. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
If crowds were allowed in..... on 21:45 - Feb 19 with 680 views | Kropotkin123 | It would be extremely toxic. Based on what has been on here I can imagine songs like Paul Lambert is a fraud, is a fraud, he... I think Marcus Evans would have had a rougher time too.

It's a good point and I think as much as there have been attempts to link the performances to the "negativity" of the fans and the press, it hasn't washed, because we aren't there when they are on the pitch. It is all on them. I think this has largely avoided the feeling from late "outers" that early "outers" have contributed to this. [Post edited 19 Feb 2021 21:49]

He certainly should have gone. I agree it's very likely that had last season played out to a conclusion the mood from the stands would have been toxic. We were heading for 15th at best. It'd be even worse now wouldn't it? It was bad enough when just a few fans were let in before the last lockdown. Now would be worse than anything with Mick without a doubt (and that was bad enough).
