(No subject) (n/t) on 21:42 - Feb 19 by MattinLondon | From PL point of view what is there to negotiate? Pay me in full and I’ll go? If he had a sense of honour he would’ve gone, if he had a sense of shame or pride he would have gone. |
Not so much a matter of honour, as how long he wants to keep this farce up. Does he ever want another job in management? Does he want to get on with his life? If there is some sort of break clause approaching, is he prepared to be paid up to that point to leave now, rather than sticking it out until that arrives?

I've been thinking about this. If there is this widely touted break clause based on finishing outside the top 6, ME is surely in a strong position to negotiate an early settlement for a marginal increase on the break agreement. PL must understand that his chances are all but shot. In such a circumstance it just doesn't make sense for Lambert to behave like he is; bringing his employer into disrepute, being openly argumentative in the media. There's no reason for him to risk a dismissal - it's either settle early, or dig in and try to turn it around. I'm now torn as to whether this is a game of chicken and ME is hoping he gets even dafter, or PL really does have us over the barrel and a break (at least in the form most expect) doesn't exist at all.

Dither? He will get another five years if he wins the next two.

Philip. Any ideas behind scenes when Evan's maybe visiting on 19:32 - Feb 19 by PhilTWTD | Might depend on how much noise he makes over the next day or so but I'm assuming that Monday they wouldn't do anything as it's the day before the game, Tuesday as it's the day of the game, so Wednesday would be my bet for their meeting where I can't imagine anything other than the terms of a departure would be discussed. |
Realistically though, could Lambert just refuse to go until paid off in full?

Two wins would put us into the Play Offs- dare to dream! #projectreality : Oh no, to win two football matches you have to score at least two goals. To score two goals you have to have two shots on target in 180 minutes. As you were!

I don't think the arguments with the media or comments (implied rather than open) about Evans and structure are anywhere even close to grounds for summary dismissal. Lots of managers have done stuff like that. If he turned up for a press conference and sh@t on the desk, or danced around the room singing "Marcus Evans is a c**t", then that might be. But what he's done so far is well short of the gross misconduct required to get rid of him with no compensation.

Philip. Any ideas behind scenes when Evan's maybe visiting on 08:24 - Feb 20 with 575 views | solemio | Never mind all this peripheral nonsense. Who is this Evan that people keep talking about. He is Evans, NOT Evan's. Every word ending in an s does not need an apostrophe before the s. I haven't got les's brain. Mind you if you had met Les you'd realise that is a good thing.

Philip. Any ideas behind scenes when Evan's maybe visiting on 20:14 - Feb 19 by PhilTWTD | Agree, and might come to that, I would guess. |
You seem so sure Phil ? my worry is if the end is this close why not just do it and give Butcher , Dyer or Klug the job until the end of the season ?
