There must be something in these latest 'rumour' reports. Lots of random bits floating around about them

As much as I like your sentiments, you don't amass an apparent wealth in excess of £500m being a clueless anything.

So he has made 500 million from running ITFC?

Nice, no wonder he doesn’t want to sell.

Poll: What % of ST holders saying they won’t renew, will end up renewing regardless?

Not sure what you're trying to say?

All I'd point out is that he's not clueless but clearly his heart isn't invested in the club.

He committed, for sure, but that's because he owns it, not through want, not because, like his other business interests, it's giving him money.

If we were winning and moving in the right direction again, i'm sure he'd get caught back in love with the club (people naturally gravitate and want to be part of a successful group) but on the slide...it's the opposite.

Whilst we're in this predicament, Evans will just be simply biding his time and seemingly hoping for something to click rather than leaving no stone uncovered to make that happen.

My point is he is clueless when it comes to running a football club. Any money he makes by running his other business successfully is irrelevant.

I have, a decade and a half of underachieving dross and mediocrity unti le gets close to retirment age, and the when everybody has been lulled into a false sense of security he unleashes all of his personal wealth in an effort to exhaust it on us before he dies and intends touring Europe and getting hammered in various grounds for his retirement hobby.

We have a little way to get through yet.

Hmmm, not sure about that. I was thinking it could be more of a 'Trading Places' type of bet with another ageing rich white man. Evans gets to spend money on a decent Championship side but with the aim of making decisions that look bold and ambitious yet nevertheless result in a terminal descent. The other guy is given a basket case to turn around, say Wolves, and makes odd decisions which somehow succeed. Both need to send McCarthy in at some point to 'fix' the conditions for the bet to work. The bet being to see which club best demonstrates that football after the instigation of the The Premier League is fecked...

I see price of football have massively backtracked on how strong their rumours are

There’s 8-10 clubs that are in the ‘possible’ takeover category at present. Ipswich are one but that’s a long way off a deal. Trail could easily go cold. Don’t get hopes raised.

My original comment calling him a "Clueless F$ckwit" still stands against running a football club

As a businessman , I'd say he's done quite well to be fair

You missed my point originally

He hasn't a clue how to run a football club even after 14 years attempting

I dare say having a clue and can't be ars*d/bothered/care apply.

My point is, he's not clueless, he's just not actually that interested.

"Massively backtracked" is a bit of a stretch.

He said that after Sunderland there was only one big club left to buy and posted a funny video of a bloody tractor.

The post you quote was in response to Town fans getting overexcited. Hardly a backtrack at all.

Or this 'bloated' squad of fifty nine players amassed in the depressed conditions of a pandemic and containing many young players on lower pay is perhaps an indication of an Evans 'secondary market' in player contracts, sell on clauses, options on loanees etc.

Some years ago there were scandal stories about Latin American teenagers brought over to Europe on promises of careers of untold riches who ended up languishing in lower league Belgian clubs as they provided a pool of possible talent for larger clubs to dip into. And once powerful national side Belgium no longer trouble the European Nations Cup (Brazil have had a few World Cup mishaps too). The youngsters, with a very few exceptions, make little money. Those that do play for clubs provide sporadic entertainment and those clubs have lacklustre fortunes. But some do make a comfortable living out of this economic drudgery, and I have to wonder if Evans has got something similar going on here?

Disagree... yesterday 1 big deal to be done... an attention grabbing statement it has to be said that suggests something v much in the works.

Today Town are one of 8 to 10 clubs that, maybe, might be up for sale possibly. Dont get hopes up.

For me that's a massive backtrack and a v delivered widening of their conversation... probs in response to the poorly considerd initial tweet. Frankly it smacks of "Oh #### this has gained traction on twitter, caveat, caveat, caveat!"
