There must be something in these latest 'rumour' reports. Lots of random bits floating around about them

All we can hope for is that Mr Evans has finally realized he has failed. Took poor advice, made awful decisions , been duped and wasted a lot of money.

I think that possibility might have occurred to him.

He’s hated at Bristol.

Everyone in football is probably hated by fans of their club or other clubs at some point in their careers, even Lambert is hated by Noj fans because of how he engineered his departure, forgetting the double promotion he achieved with them.

Bound not to be anything in this story- the fact that we might actually get a proper CEO after all these years would be a move in the right direction.

In the unlikely event that this happens, Ashton doesn't seem very popular at Bristol City judging by this:

We aren't a 'little' League 1 club at all. Much as we feel we're a shambles I'm also not sure it's right to say that the club has a 'dreadful reputation'.

Equally we’re not really saddled with an enormous debt, because it’s owed to Evans and he knows it will never be repaid unless we get back into the Premier League for a sustained period

Reading some of their fans comments they seem to have a right mess behind the scenes too. And this guy seems like a right t!t. We have enough of them now. Sounds like jumping out of the frying pan into the fire. No thanks BC can keep him.

That said - I’m a firm believer in there’s no smoke without fire

A phrase in no way appropriate for 2020 when literally anyone can make things up. Honestly, if you gave me 48 hours I could sign up to Twitter with a name like @FootballLeagueNews and with less than 50 followers and having never tweeted before I could fill in a few blanks and embellish the story and at least five different people would post it here.

I know a lot of Norwich fans (as I'm surrounded by them living here in deepest-darkest Norfolk) that were actually keen to have Lambert back not that long before he ended up here.  When Farke was struggling, before he hit on a winning formula (think when we drew 1-1 with them at Portman Road), a good number of them were keen to get Lambert back, although they nearly all said that he'd need Culverhouse to come along with him in order to be effective.
His popularity rating with Norwich fans was actually good on the whole (as far as I could gather) before he joined us.
One good thing about the lockdown is that it's saved me a lot of abuse from Norwich fans!  Whenever my son used to play football on a Sunday we'd invariably be met by a bunch of gloating Norwich fans running over to rub it in before we'd barely stepped foot out of the car!

IF there is an owner out there who's willing to put the money in. This could be one of the cheapest opportunities to do something in the football world.

I had a couple of guys round last week to fit some windows, both came in wearing their Noj facemasks - they already knew I was an Ipswich fan from an earlier visit, sad thing was, they actually felt sorry for me. Pity from Noj fans, whatever next.

You're in/around GY as well aren't you? We'll have to form the GY branch of the ITFC supporters club - assuming we've still got a club in a few months anyway.

Surely there is a bit of a conflict of interest there if he is still in post at BC?

If nothing else they must take a dim view if he's working on the purchase of a club whilst he's supposed to be running another?

I'm sure there would be if there was anything in it.

Whilst all the rumours and stories doing the rounds right now are making me feel quite optimistic it’s grates on me at the same time that the “evidence” is coming from accounts on various accounts with next to nothing in terms of followers , concrete evidence or even “believe- ability “

That said - I’m a firm believer in there’s no smoke without fire

I truly believe it’s one of two reasons why PL is still here

1) ME is a tight ass with no medium term strategy
2) ME is selling up and passing up on the responsibility of having sack PL and pay him off

No other logical theories resonate with me

Perhaps a third

3) ME is a total clueless fûckwit

I think at least someone out of those I've spoken to about it would be aware of it, even if there's something in what you say, it wouldn't be conducted actually out of Portman Road.

Some of the negotiations are being held at his Cornish estate. Far from London and Ipswich.

I have, a decade and a half of underachieving dross and mediocrity unti le gets close to retirment age, and the when everybody has been lulled into a false sense of security he unleashes all of his personal wealth in an effort to exhaust it on us before he dies and intends touring Europe and getting hammered in various grounds for his retirement hobby.

We have a little way to get through yet.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.
