Attack vs Defence - Expected Goals rating on 15:23 - Feb 22 with 827 views | Darth_Koont | Pretty damning. And I think pretty chicken and egg when we consider how many players Lambert has thrown at the front 6 positions to try to get a tune out of our attack. Even players like Judge who have been involved in almost every game have played 4 or 5 different positions. But we’ve largely kept the same 433 that has left players spread out and isolated more often than not. We didn’t score on Saturday obviously but we seemed to create more chances. Norwood is one of the few players we’ve got who can add some bustle and make chances out of very little but I think having him and Parrott operating more closely together made a big difference. And that’s without either having particularly good games. We also got the ball forward quicker having two simpler and more defensive CBs.

If you are playing a 10 it's very different to have someone like Parrott there who wants to support and link up with the striker, opposed to Judge, Bishop, Nolan etc who want to work with the midfield and isolate the striker. It's almost back to the early years of the PL when everyone played 442 and you saw likes of Cantona, ZOla, Bergkamp come into the league and play 442 but as a 4411

Every error is highlighted because we are woeful going forwards.

I don't think it will change anything in terms of our goal output whether we play, 2/3/ 4 upfront. The fundamentals of how we play the game in an attacking sense are wrong.

Agreed if playing three up top means stretched from one side of the pitch to the other with acres in between. We need players closer together much more often rather than letting the opposition defence pick them off one by one.

Attack vs Defence - Expected Goals rating on 16:02 - Feb 22 with 676 views | BseaBlue | The club must have access to this data. What the f00k is going on? To think that this season more than ever the games have been accessible to all. We really have missed a golden opportunity to entice more people let alone put the loyal ones off!! | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Attack vs Defence - Expected Goals rating on 20:09 - Feb 22 with 559 views | Pilgrimblue | It just goes to underline that our problme has always been with our attack. But PL can't see that as why on earth did he sign Parrott with zero gaols for Millwall and a young right back who's no better that what we have/had with Donacian. He should have gone all out to get proper strikers but for me it's too late to turn it around. 12th is best we're going to achieve with PlL in charge.
Attack vs Defence - Expected Goals rating on 20:44 - Feb 22 with 505 views | BluedanW | If you look at them stats overall it would suggest our defence is pretty solid. But that doesn't show the true picture. As our midfield is and lone striker are playing so deep we are never going to concede many, but never likely to score either. We park the bus, however forget to take the lead first
