I called the police but no would would come on 22:20 - Mar 21 by BlueBadger | It turned into an anti-police protest for one reason - the actions of the police in breaking it up. |

10 years is stupid and including a reference to noise is stupid. a court won't make use of the first and the second will either not be applied in practice or the threshold will be set so high as to make it irrelevant. it is an example of bad legislation - it responds to particular specific instances (the guy with the megaphone outside parliament who disrupted the media on parliament green and various demos which have tried to drown parliamentary debates with noise). that's a bad way to form laws. in addition, it has to be read in the context of the human rights act. any attempt to apply the measures in a harsh way will be ruled by a court as incompatible. the truth is therefore that it will never really add to the powers that the police actually use. again, another sign that those elements are bad legislation. however, if there was a way to stop er from doing what they did in 2019 - where i work they occupied a roundabout for 10 days and brought the city to a stand still - i'd support that.
| And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show |

I called the police but no would would come on 09:11 - Mar 22 by Crawfordsboot | Here’s a point for all of us on here to reflect on What do violent football hooligans, skinheads, hells angels, mods and rockers etc. have in common . . . . . Angry white men |
I remember questioning why some Nigerian youths were quick to violence and it was pointed out, that bored young men, without the prospects of jobs etc....what did I think they were going to do? Accept the parallel is not exact, but violent youths is indeed nothing new, or unique to the UK.

I called the police but no would would come on 22:38 - Mar 21 by jeera | It isn't an anti-police agenda. It is an anti-citizen agenda from the government. The police are the pawns caught in the middle. |
Oh that's alright then. I was getting angry about the mindless violence and destruction for a minute. I'm cool now. Thanks.

That's only because I didn't include the rioters in Toxteth, St Pauls, etc. in the early 1980s. Same kind of thing. And women took a more prominent role in rioting in the 19th century and before than they did since, up until quite recently. Especially if it related to food shortages/price increases.
