RE: Dyson and ventilators. 16:17 - Apr 23 with 1917 views | monytowbray | I'm pretty sure I shared this at the time of publishing and was accused of Political Point Scoring. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/coronavirus-ventilators-boris-joh If those who voted for and/or defended this sh1tshow could start owning it and demanding some accountability that would be lovely. Also, stop falling victim to the rolling news cycle, they love knowing people are so dumb to forget things so fast. Cheers. [Post edited 23 Apr 2021 16:18]

RE: Dyson and ventilators. on 16:36 - Apr 23 by Lord_Lucan | Ok I'll bite As usual you have posted a headline without knowing anything about what you are talking about. The supply of kits and ventilators from the company in Cheshire was almost definitely concerning Nantwich small businessman and habitual chancer Steven Misfud from Direct Access Consultancy Ltd who when I looked at their accounts at the time had almost no assets and a dodgy credit score. At the time every man and his dog were saying they could get this and that and 99% of them were dreamers. At the same time everyone was creating that we had a lack of PPE - so it turns out government went on to a war footing and bought everything they could on a money no object basis - which it turn has led to some pretty rotten deals. Which the same people are creating about. |
I remember that. The bloke seems like the sort to try and sell sand to the Arabs, so could well have been a disaster. The way Johnson courted Dyson and JCB, seemingly because of their support for him and for his Brexit, sucks (no pun intended), but I wouldn't lose any sleep about this bloke missing out on middle-manning some potentially useless kit.

RE: Dyson and ventilators. on 16:20 - Apr 23 by Cheltenham_Blue | Uh-Oh. 10 page political thread incoming. I didn't vote for it btw. |
This brings to mind the furore over the EU banning powerful vacuum cleaners. A ban that led to huge numbers of the 'not too bright' buying 1600w cleaners Unfortunately the reality was the EU 'ban' was to stop the sale of noisy inefficient cleaners - and to also increase the durability of parts and fittings. While this was backed and explained by Which magazine, it merely added to the belief by those of limited intellect that the EU really was some Big Brother type organisation, hell bent on ruining the UK with an ever increasing number of silly rules You can read what Which had to say - https://www.which.co.uk/news/2017/08/eu-vacuum-cleaner-ban-2017-everything-you-n
RE: Dyson and ventilators. on 19:29 - Apr 23 with 507 views | HARRY10 | "Boris Johnson has confirmed that messages between him and James Dyson about the billionaire businessman’s tax affairs will be published on Friday, saying there was nothing “remotely dodgy” about the exchanges." Weds Apparently not, it now seems I can't think there would be anything 'dodgy' in them No, that can't be the reason for not publishing them....... surely not Boris Johnson has been accused of failing to honour a promise to parliament, after Downing Street released a statement detailing his contacts with businessman Sir James Dyson instead of publishing the messages themselves. Fri eve hmmm
RE: Dyson and ventilators. on 22:55 - Apr 23 with 458 views | Darth_Koont | Getting Dyson, McLaren and JCB to re-design (!!!) and deliver ventilators should have been the straw that broke the camel’s back for our sad excuse for a government and politics. But still barely a footnote now – and only as a discussion about tax and favours. Not the complete lack of rational thinking and the lack of concern about protecting lives.

Remember who defended it. Don't see much of that crowd these days. [Post edited 23 Apr 2021 23:12]

RE: Dyson and ventilators. on 16:50 - Apr 23 by Herbivore | Really? Are you genuinely happy with this Tory government? They seem like a pretty awful bunch, mate. |
I think they are doing ok. What were the alternatives? | | | | Login to get fewer ads

There were several alternatives as I'm sure you're aware. I think your appraisal of the Tories as doing 'okay', whilst lot exactly glowing, is very generous.
