Let's be honest if he comes or not up till we went after him I had never heard of him I'm sure there will be others as good who want to be here , let him play in front of ten thousand at Luton if that's what he wants.

He won’t see it, not ready for at least 3 years

Wow. He must be some player to increase the appeal of watching them so much.

Do they really expect to sell out 23,000?

I watched him at Crawley a few times and he didn’t really impress me much.
He certainly didn’t look any more cultured than Chambers.
Both me and my old man were surprised to see him so successful at Luton but maybe that speaks volumes for our judgement or perhaps he added something to his game.
I’m not convinced he will be a great loss if we don’t get him.
However, if he doesn’t come it does highlight the issues Cook will face if he’s trying to completely rebuild the squad with players with Championship experience.

I guess so otherwise why build a 23,000 seater stadium...?

That begs the question how many new stadia do sell out.

Is there a degree to which owners build/expand with an eye on future capacity and an expectation that the club might progress? When well-supported opposition clubs visit and those that the neutral is interested in the bigger the capacity the better.

In other words, a season ticket base of 10,000 that sees an average crowd of nearer 15,000 could still see a 23,000 capacity sold out for the visit of Fulham (are they seen as a big draw/local rival etc?), Sheffield United and someone in the cup.

Maybe their owners do see the potential for 23,000 week in, week out. Or maybe they are ambitious to reach the Premier League?

They wouldn't be the first to have a stadium completely inappropriate for their crowds.

Before anyone mentions PR, we were getting 29k in the Championship before Evans arrived and put us through 1.5 decades of utter tedium and decline. So don't tell me Portman Road is too big for our potential.

Truly impaired.

Based on the below. And of course there could be various reasons for him staying put... but Bare in mind he would have stayed at Plymouth had they offered more... he could simply have been waiting all along for luton to do the same and with them freeing up additional funds there possibly was no chance of him coming our way..

One of my luton mates think it could be to get a fee for the club but reading the above I think he was playing the money game.

Never be afraid to share your thoughts.

Just had a look at the capacity and history of Morecambe's stadium.

Capacity 6,400 and finished in 2010.

Never been more than 85% full (when Newcastle visited) and very rarely as much as half full. Would have been interesting to see if they had even sold out if they had full capacity for their biggest match in their history today. I can only imagine 23K at Luton would sell out if they got to the Premier League.
