I'm not saying thinking that it's simply the US military is being closed-minded... I'm saying thinking that's the only feasible explanation is closed-minded.
Some people, in general not just this thread, seem to get angry at the suggestion of aliens. You can see that in one or two ridiculing it to ridiculous lengths, making silly premises and giving short shrift to the idea etc.
I'm not sure what's wrong with "It's probably military hardware but it could be aliens, given we know they're likely to exist and some will be far in advance of us." People try to make all sorts of twists and turns to what I'm saying but it's really just that. |
There's something going on with UFOs. For me the sheer weight of evidence that even those who "should" know what they are (if they are of this world) in fact don't (e.g. FLIR1 and the other aatip stuff) points quite firmly to at least *some* UFOs being non-human intelligence. Applying occam's razor and coming up with an earthly explanation is in my opinion ignorant of the scale of the phenomenon not to mention how long it has been going on for.
As to all the stuff about how/why would an off-world intelligence come here etc, I think it's entirely futile to speculate what the purpose/meaning/reason is. You might as well ask a maggot to explain Shakespeare. |  |

I've not invented anything, I think you might need to re-read your posts as I think the context I am reading (perhaps incorrectly) is different to what you might be trying to say.
For example in your last post:
"There was a need to invoke far more technologically evolved aliens as an explanation for that"
That is clearly defining that the probability is higher that it's not military as you've stated there is a need to invoke something else. Perhaps that's not what you meant which is of course fine but that is how it reads to me. I haven't said it can't be aliens, I don't think anyone has said that.
USO = Unknown Submerged Object. It's far harder to go fast underwater and it's even harder to go underwater then come out of the water into the air, fly around and then go back in again which is what some of the object on the military cameras are apparently doing. Once again though, there are multiple possible explanations for such things.

No, no, no. You're taking that line out of context of everything else I've said and when I've been pushed and pushed. I simply meant to have an alternative explanation to advanced human tech you need to invoke aliens.
If you read my posting throughout this thread NOWHERE have I said one theory is more likely than the other. Why not pluck a few other quotes from my posts? For example;

"I'm again not saying any of this is true or even likely."
"It's just a discussion, idle speculation."
"It's an explanation. I haven't said if it's the most likely one or not."

My twopennieworth - I very much believe that there are other species, I cannot believe we are alone.
However, I do question a lot of sightings, coincidently all sightings seem to be in America, how convenient, it's a bit like Ghost sightings, why are they all from a certain era ie the 1800's, no one has ever seen a caveman ghost...
And just to add, I believe most of these obscure objects are the Americans messing around with new technology, certainly from stories told by old boys around the Rendlesham time, they all said it was the Americans messing around with stealth's.
Also, why on these billion pound Fighter jets do they put poundland polaroid cameras on them... |  |

UFO sightings are a worldwide phenomenon and are known to go back at least as far as the second millennium. I think you're probably just more aware of the modern American stuff as they have an increased cultural interest in it. | |
