I don't know look at Henderson and his 2 seasons at Sheffield initially in a promotion winning team and then another season in the prem worked out well for Henderson and Sheffield. The fact they got relegated this season was in no small part related to his absence. |  | | |

Was thinking about this yesterday. Maybe the reason McGuinness got quite a few games at the back end of last season was the club wanted to gain favour with Arsenal and show the big teams that if they sent a player to us, he would get game time.
If it ends up getting us a good player who otherwise may have gone to the Champ then would probably have been worth it. | | | |

You also sometimes see these top clubs wanting to send players to clubs at the top of divisions rather than mid-table/relegation candidates in order to replicate the conditions they will face in the first team, i.e a club that dominates the ball/plays a certain way. Could be especially pertinent for a keeper in the context of a keeper that doesn't have a lot to do but has to maintain concentration. | | | |
