Why do the gammon defend the 37 BILLION? (n/t) on 22:49 - Jun 20 by jeera

It is important to separate the two though.

Test and Trace hasn't been a success from Day 1.

Talk of operators sitting about with nothing to do; private firms being paid a fortune for virtually nothing, acting as and taking huge sums of money for being little more than agents.

A system that wouldn't load onto a great number of Smart phones...

That is a different set-up to the testing system itself and it does need investigating thoroughly.

For every million wasted through incompetence and/or wilful ignorance that is hard cash that could have been spent purposefully on projects that are in desperate need and yet readily overlooked, as you will no doubt know yourself from your own line of worthwhile expertise.

Yeah, I've never been able to engage with T&T because I've got the wrong model of phone, which is also one of the more popular brands in the UK. I've never had an alert or been contacted after being in contact with someone who has had covid (which has been few) and had on phone call when I had it myself, but missed it and they don't leave a message and never called back. There must be millions of people in the same boat.

Alright mate.

Yeah get that, the reported 37bn also covers testing though, which I believe is the biggest chunk of the spend.

Just wanted to point that out, I’m certainly not leading the case for the defence. And I believe you may be using expertise inappropriately.

It’s like calling Skuse a legend.

It's going to be a world class system when it gets going though, don't forget that.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

None of it, I’ve not said anywhere that it does. If it is as you say, then people will hopefully be held to account. But making decisions during a global pandemic, I’m sure isn’t easy, and you’ve got to take big risks, and place a lot of trust in the advice your being given.

More nonsense !

It is because the government ignored the advice given, that so much went wrong. Not locking down early enough, using 'mates' to waste million on PPE that could not be used.

There was only a shortage of PPE because the government ignored the requirements stemming from Exercise CYGNUS.

The reality us that the useless lump of lard failed to turn up to any COBRA meetings, then when the pandemic was taking he'd decided to fck of for 12 days to sort out the mess that was his private life.

His whole message at that time was one of not locking down, and posing for photo ops while spouting sh ite about herd immunity whereby the virus is allowed to run amok through the country. There were no checks at airports where skiers were returning from one of the world's worse hit regions (North Italy).

Other countries had already locked down when 250,000 were allowed to mix at the Cheltenham festival, as were 54,000 at Anfield.

There were not 'big risks. There was gross incompetence, as shown by the way other countries dealt with it.

No weasel words from snivellin' apologists will distract from the fact that fat boy fcked up yet again, only this time causing an horrendous number of deaths

I think I’m getting the message, you don’t like Boris Johnson do you?

It would however be more worthwhile if you had something constructive to say in the here and now, stop living in the past.
