Thanks mate, just had a listen. I do enjoy listening to Mark Ashton. Very assured guy that comes across very well. Hopefully that calms some of the fans down
Encouraging regarding him being 'very hopeful' on some signings soon too as no doubt he would be trying to manage expectations when live on the radio |
Amazed that anyone would think we're not going to make signings very soon. We've barely got a side, we're looking to shift even more players on, we wouldn't be allowing that unless we were very confident of signing players. Nothing about the approach so far is a surprise nor cause for concern in terms of deviating from the strategy, it's all entirely predictable and in line with what we expected. Questioning whether some of the cast offs could've added some value is another thing altogether.
But we've got 2 in the door already, I imagine we're very close on a couple more and I wouldn't rule out that being 6 or 7 new faces by the time we hit mid-July. Not to mention 2 or 3 loans. People need to chill, these things do take time. |  |

I'd suggest there'll be a lot of movement the very first week in July and I think all the fretting and wetting will decrease somewhat

There seems to be people that would also rather we just signed players rather than get better/the right players too. The deals we seem to want to do aren't the type that just fall into line early in the transfer window. It is of course a balancing act as you want players in early enough to have a proper pre-season. Im amazed that there are fans thinking we are not going to make signings soon too. But there are, hence my comment in my post.
"I expect us to be really strong, competing at the top end of the division and competing for promotion.” this should be all any one needs to read. | | | |
