This "miraculous" drop in covid infections... on 10:14 - Jul 29 by Pinewoodblue | You would expect it to spread within the households of those who contracted it and also by those infected but not showing symptoms. |
Maybe but I probably was in close contact with several dozen to low hundreds of people at the Euros final, the tube, chaos on Wembley way. In the 15 days following I was only in close contact with one. Scale that up and bearing in mind, I'm no virologist or human geographer but several dozen is more than one.

This "miraculous" drop in covid infections... on 08:51 - Jul 29 by TractorWood | Because all the people I know who got it at the final including me spent the next 5 days in bed and not spreading it. |
And people who contract Covid somewhere other than Wembley do something different to that?

Having seen the evidence posted from PCR test data, this does look promising. Is there a suggestion that warmer weather helps? Didn't we have a drop in cases last summer too?

I think there is an underestimation of the amount of transmission in schools... basically, a massive group of unvaccinated, low symptom carriers, being forced together for 7 hours a day. This has now stopped, and was winding down in the last couple of weeks, as schools closed early, and parents took kids out to avoid holiday cancellations. We may see a small rise from the losening of restrictions, but from what I have seen, a lot of people are still being pretty cautious.
