Horner is a moaning nelly but there is nothing wrong with what he said. He's is talking about the crash and the fact that Verstappen got abuse, not the racist angle.
Abuse online is terrible. The racial element is by far and away the most disturbing and a serious problem currently. But trolling and bullying and abuse of people in all walks of life including sports sports stars is also a huge issue as well as racism. [Post edited 30 Jul 2021 22:34]

He wasn't just talking about the crash, the interviewer specifically spoke to him about the racial abuse, horner interupted immediately, went on the defence and then steered it away from Lewis's abuse onto Max's like it was a comparison. That is why it has been a big discussion online.
The reaction from Max and Redbull post Silverstone race incited alot of unnecessary hatred towards Lewis. To the point that Max still hasn't removed or retracted his personal tweet regarding Hamiltons celebrations whilst he was in hospital, when it's been confirmed that Redbull told Mercedes that Max was all ok and this was the info Lewis was given over the radio.
He will get defensive, he will look to move it away and onto Max as he's been embarrased this week, 1 minute calling Hamilton disgusting and sending Max to hospital, desperately attempting to get a further penalty including the recreation of the accident via his reserve driver, plus additional documents aimed against Hamilton personally, this was rightfully thrown out by the FIA, suddenly lewis is an experienced driver who made a mistake, not the digusting driver he claimed last race.
On the day Redbull sacked an employee for racist lewis comments made within a group chat, Horner should have known better to do what he did today. It won't be the end of it, especially with the Misson 44 underway. | |
