We’re not just building a team 11:14 - Aug 30 with 3891 views_sanctimoanious_

but a squad! A proper squad not one with ‘filler’. Each player knows when they sign on the dotted line that they have to fight for a starting spot. Stop fretting and enjoy the ride ffs.

I think i've been faily balanced

Regarding PC
I questionned the use of Fraser out wide
I questionned the subbing of Pigott before the Collapse at Cheltenham
I questionned the game management in that fixture too
I questionned if we signed individuals that aren't suited to PC's 4 2 3 1

Regarding the club
I questionned the re-signing at the time of Drinan, Jackson and others
I'e questionned the fonts used by the owners on the stand
I've questionned the website
I've questionned the ticket situation

So being honest i've thrown in my fair of thoughts on things. Positive and Negative.

Positive or negative, you have really surpassed yourself today!

So far today we have a loan signing in August who will be used after Xmas (that’ll go down well in Arizona with the ex firefighters given how much he’ll be on) and now a Pre-season 2 that will ensure additional gelling no doubt.

Obviously it’s toss that we’ve yet to win but having a storming start, winning the first ten and top at Christmas doesn’t mean anything either. Who knows if things will turn out well, i just think you’re being too quick to get the knives out and forcing the Cook is an idiot too readily.

Great start and top at Xmas isn't a guarantee because it significantly increases your chances

It is almost like you lot can't see the fact that we have to have a virtually flawless season fro hereon to stand any chance.

Picking one raffle ticket from 4 is possible but not guaranteed we have basically just added another 20 tickets and are still being bullish about drawing our number

Winning your first 10 and being top at Christmas generally means you have less to do to secure promotion in the second half of the season than if you fail to win your early games and are midtable at Christmas.

I think Celina will be ready long before December - by the sounds of it the "not ready before Christmas" came from confusion surrounding his Covid side affects.

Our last 2 squads had been top ... after the opening period of the season
Edwards scored 5 goals........ Your favourite player wasn't he?

The explanation is a mixture of reasons tbh, one which i've repeated daily and bored off as the dooms don't have the patience for it... We're in pre season 2. We're not yet as a collective fit enough and lack of concentration has cost us with the goals we've conceded.

So have no other teams in the league been in the same position then? Are we the only team who have made wholesale changes and had injuries? Why do 21/24 league 1 teams have wins?

No I can totally see that, I’m just trying to look at the bigger picture. It’s easy to scream irrationally and throw all your toys out but we were all warned about the overhaul and what might happen. Ultimately this club is only heading up but there may be a few bumps in the road.

The thing that worries me is everyone pointing to the likes of Blackpool and Palace as examples of teams who started slow and ended up promoted as something to give us hope. All these examples of teams eventually clicking and making runs only ever end in them making the play-off's. Are we now saying that we are basically ruling out automatic promotion? Because if things don't start to change very soon, that is going to be the case.

To be only fighting for one promotion spot after 1/2 months of the season given what we've done over the Summer would be absolutely criminal.

There’s this crazy belief now that starting the season well is a bad thing, I’d love for them to try and explain that to Cook who would probably give up his left testicle for a win at the moment and to be sitting top of the league

Remind me how many times ipswich started the season well under Burley before we finished in the top 6.......... Christ, if social media was as hot then as it is now, Burley wouldn't have made it past October.

That’s nonsense and you know it. Nobody believes that just pointing out that Lambert had an incredible start and still finished mid table. Nothing is over yet and everything is still very much up for grabs. The start is poor but let’s ease up on the Cook is awful agenda eh?

They clearly seem to have a policy that even if you have the slightest niggle you rest, which will prevent them becoming long term. So yes we will need a quality squad.

This is definitely true and a good point to make. Rolls tells Cook who he can and can’t select on fitness basis.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

I don't think that's fair - it's just we've proven over the past two seasons that starting well means nothing, ergo starting badly doesn't mean anything... yet. Give it another half dozen games and the league will start to take shape, however. We have to be on the up by then.
