Constituents of a "Full English"..... 17:34 - Sep 23 with 4953 viewsBloots

....should be:

Fried Egg (not poached or scrambled)
Bacon (back not streaky)
Sausage (preferably pork)
Mushrooms (fried)
Baked beans
Tomato (halved and grilled, at a push fried)
Fried Bread (not toast)

Plus a cup of tea.

Anything else is wrong, you idiots.

Actually no you haven’t nailed it. Where the fookety fook are the hash browns?!? They’re the best bit!

Poll: Would you take a draw tonight if offered right now?

Bubble and squeak

Does anyone truly know what that actually is? If it’s ever on a menu (same with tomatoes) I get them swapped for extra hash browns.

Me and a uni mate a couple years ago made it a mission to try every Cafe/Spoons/Boozer in the space of about 2 months that did a fry up in the search for High Wycombes best full English for a post hangover breakfast.

The answer for those wondering for Wycombe away in a few weeks - The Squirrel.

+1 for getting rid of the tomato...they usually end up being a tasteless watery mess, and there's enough tomato content from the beans (if it's a proper portion...enough to collaborate with a couple of sausages, or the chef can do one)

Don't forget the Brown Sauce (only allowed to add to plate once the Egg Yolk is finished)

Poll: My morning poo-poo took 3 flushes to clear. Who do I call?

What about the smashed avocado?

It's obviously been a heavy night, he'll pass on the full English and just have cornflakes.

Poll: What was in Wes Burns' imaginary cup of tea ?

Whilst in Belfast a couple of years ago I had a full Irish, instead of toast it had potato bread, and had a white pudding as well as the black pudding.

Potato bread/boxty is Co leitrims greatest export. Just plonk an enormous lump of keerygold on top of it an yer away. I also require black an white pudding on my fry. One without the other is an apartheid like Injustice. Believe it was also the subject matter of the Stevie wonder classic ebony and ivory. Does like a fry does Steve

No! Hash Browns have no place here!

Americanised laziness for those who cannot be bothered to properly prepare and cook Sauté Potatoes / Bubble and Squeak if it’s Christmas.
