Agreed. One step back to take two forward. We wait with baited breath…

Plus, we can visit all these new grounds and rebuild even stronger from League Two.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

I do remember when they were on a good run soon after he joined Them and there were some people on here bringIng it up every week.

Not heard much about him until now.

Wonder what the Cardiff fans are making of it.

His team are mid table in the Championship. In 2021. He is a highly effective football manager in the 21st century. What has Cook achieved since he arrived at Portman Road? We fell off a cliff under him last season, and this season has been some kinds of fantasy football joke leaving us in the relegation zone of League One.

Cook is not fit to lace Mick's boots (whether they're brown leather boots with leather studs hammered in with nails, or pink ones with elasticated built in sock, I don't really care). He's certainly not fit to manage this once great club.

why is it then that the majority of fans don’t seem all that happy with him in charge do you think?

Even when Micks Cardiff were flying last season probably 30% of their fans were already questioning whether they could stand the ‘awful’ ‘boring’ ‘old skool’ ‘hoof ball’ football

It’s now deafening on their message boards - 72% of fans on their forum say he should leave

Whether Cook makes it here remains to be seen, but Mick should have only been a short term appointment as his football is sh!t

Your post is ridiculous

From the Cardiff forum today:

“ 100% MICK OUT . We are not going to improve or go forward under mick. The football is atrocious.”

“ It should never have been Mick IN, once again our inept board have gone for a quick fix and it is crippling us. How we have ended up with 1 winger in the whole squad (on loan) is just criminal. Mick needs to be put out to pasture he is an utter cretin.”

Poll: What level of support are you bringing to Portman Road today?

McCarthy took over Sunderland in the Championship and left them in the Premier League. They appointed Roy Keane who took them down.

He took over Wolves in the Championship and left them in the Premier League.

I am quite sure that, had he been properly backed with Ipswich he would have taken us to the Premier League as well. Instead he did a good job with the funding he had.

If you seriously think McCarthy left Sunderland, Wolves and Ipswich in a weaker position than he took them over you really are not aware of the facts.

Roy Keane didn’t take Sunderland down. They were already down and he brought them back up

My hobbies include being quiet during trips, clapping with songs, and diabetes.

Probably the same place they always were - over it.

Mick is a bit like an ex girlfriend who you were relieved to dump because the aggro was just too much to deal with, but months later all that's forgotten and the only thing you miss are one or two great shags, not the sea of misery and acrimony which was the real sum of the relationship

You must have had similar girl friends as me!
Football is supposed to be entertainment when you have somebody with the mindset of when we walk on the field we have a point it's never going to be good entertainment.
I personally would prefer good football as opposed to just hanging on in mid table.
I know others think it is a result business and a 1 nil grind is a great result. Anybody remember the thrill of the old days, Arsenal v Middlesborough , that got the pulses racing.
McCarthy is a dinosaur in modern football, will always get a job because of his "standing" and do nothing.
