I don't want to name names, but they are some pretty consistent posters that are trying to do this. What is your policy for this? [Post edited 1 Nov 2021 14:48]

Akin to Bully playing table-tennis in Harry Redknapp's utility room, and subsequently becoming the Tourist Information Centre for Poole, that was enough to wed him to that lot. |
Thanks, it all makes sense now.

FAO: Phil / Gav: Budgies infiltrating TWTD on 21:07 - Nov 1 by Bluedicea | I do agree that posting negative things can be damaging to both the self and others, but we come in all different flavours as humans, none of us are perfect and always positive. In your previous post you asked why people do it. A few reasons, some people are pessimistic about life, others more optimistic. Sometimes someone is just struggling with something or having a bad day, so they get into more negative thinking. Other times people deliberately post negative posts to get a reaction, they derive satisfaction from upsetting others as it's a way to get rid of their negative feelings by passing them onto others which provides them with a dopamine hit. |
We need positive and negative views to make it interesting. I just feel some of the negative views are bordering on the extreme side. Tomorrow night will be 5 weeks since Morsy started his 1st league game for us, everyones perspective is different on where you decide to start judging the manager, but for me it is 5 weeks ago, that is when the side was fully assembled. I think to bring PC's record in from last season is just ridiculous, it was not his team, they were not his players and they could not play his system. But no doubt, "deliberately post negative posts to get a reaction" is a thing.

Totally, but there is a difference in the way it can be posted. Constructive criticism is good for everyone, but just screaming and shouting abuse about stuff is unhelpful, unnecessary and unhealthy. That's what some people struggle to differentiate between. Honestly, I'm with Cook til the end of the season. At that point I will decide if it's been good, bad or both. I don't get people's impatience and unrealistic expectations, it's very child like and shows that those people never really learned to develop their emotional intelligence to the same degree as others. I love Town, but I understand everything in life is cyclical, constantly changing and has millions of moving parts, so to my mind to create something good, you have to destroy something and rebuild it, which takes time. And it's over that length of time do you get the full perspective or picture and can then make more informed decisions or changes, rather than the panic changes that are made out of fear by most people.

FAO: Phil / Gav: Budgies infiltrating TWTD on 15:59 - Nov 1 by Burns7 | Given that by implying constantly that I am Bluefish, a Norwich supporter or live in Norfolk in sn attempt to bully me off the forum along with others what is the policy about that? It’s a lie and frankly libellous and deliberately being thrown at me because you don’t like my view. So far everyone I have asked for real names from who’s spreading this sh1t about me has declined, it’s pretty apparent you are lying. Either take it back and apologise or stand by it and I’ll take it to the club. The mods on here will be able to see and confirm I am not Bluefish and I’m happy to meet anyone at the next game who thinks I’m Norwich or from Norfolk. But stop spreading muck with no evidence, it’s toxic and totally unnecessary. |
Your last half sentence is something you really should read and digest before you post each time!

The problem with only judging Cook from the time Morsy signed is that the rest of the teams in the league started from 7 August.

No you can't judge Cook from the time Morsy signed, he needs to be judged from the beginning of the season when 99% of the squad was assembled. But there does seem to be a cohort of people on here that jump on every loss with almost glee, just wanting to be right to win the internet. FWIW the majority of fans I speak to at games are quite happy and relaxed by the project, the fact that 20 odd thousand turn up week in week out kinda speaks volumes and listening to the boys on the KOA pod yesterday they were quite relaxed by how things are progressing. Not to say we can't scrutinize performances etc, but some on here are so blinkered due to the fact that they never took to Cook in the first place, it's clouding thier judgment for me.

Yes and Wigan have bought in 16 players and have got 31 pts, so at this point in the season, you can quite rightly argue that Richardson has had a better start to the season than PC. Sunderland also bought in 16, and have 28 points. I will judge Cook at the end of the season, I think that is the only fair thing to do. We have to give these managers time. Cook's sides often get properly going in the New Year, presumably when he has instilled his principles into each player and they have had time to learn about each other. I would agree that if we complete this set of 5 games against top 6 sides, and have not got at least 6 points from them (preferably 9), then it would be a huge disappointment and questions will of course be asked. But if I was being 'fair' to Cook, I would say, he has had one transfer window, he really needs pre Xmas period to look at what he has got now the team is settling in, and I think he could do with the January window to further strengthen based on any learnings from Pre Xmas period, because he won't have got every signing /position right first time, no-one gets everything right first time. So I think post Jan transfer window, you will really start to see something closer to the finished article. But of course the pessimists will take that as Cook getting a 'free pass' until January!

agree with pretty much all of that except "beginning of the season when 99% of the squad was assembled", it was actually 68% of the named squad...

Brilliant post. Problem is, if you wait till the end of the season and we fail you'll get shouted down by the "I called it first" brigade. Personally I don't care. Even if I'm ultimately wrong, I still think a patient, mature response is the best way for the long term future of this club.

I'm with you there. Football is a pastime, it's an enjoyable hobby that I watch and engage in, it isn't the end of the world if we don't succeed this year, no-one is going to starve or die, so rightly so I don't invest all my emotions Into it and hurl abuse at others because I can't handle a bit of adversity. I would question those that do feel winning a football match is everything, do you feel that way about the world, about the climate, about all the animal's and humans that are slaughtered every day around the world. If people put as much passion into helping the world out that they do into following a football club, we wouldn't be in the mess we are. Priorities people, football is a game, win, lose or draw, it's just like watching a film or going to a gig of your favourite band, a luxury that should allow you the excitement of a rollercoaster of emotions for a couple of hours. No more, no less.
