Mick Mills assistant manager N/T (n/t) on 08:05 - Nov 24 with 960 views | wkj | Mick MIlls doesn't have the energy to travel to all the away games with BBCR Suffolk right now - I doubt he would be able to fill that type of role.

Mick Mills assistant manager N/T (n/t) on 08:45 - Nov 24 with 841 views | slade1 | Mick Mills is a very knowledgeable man and knows what he is talking about but if he was manager then pre match and half time would have to be extended to at least 3 hours for him to get his points over!

Mick Mills assistant manager N/T (n/t) on 08:52 - Nov 24 with 794 views | Churchman | He was pretty terrible as Stoke manager 30 odd years ago so no from me. A good example of a top player not really making the grade as a manager. Way too old anyway. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Mick Mills assistant manager N/T (n/t) on 10:10 - Nov 24 with 652 views | Tangledupin_Blue | Mick Mills was a very good footballer and exemplary servant for Ipswich and England. That seems to be the limit of his talents. He was an appalling manager. As a pundit his speciality seems to be 'stating the bleeding obvious in the most tedious manner whilst sucking the joy of spontaneity from every situation'. He sounds as if he is talking to a bunch of four year olds who've never seen a football and his language and phrasing are straight from Enid Blyton. His talents, such as they are, might be better used in making tapes for those seeking a cure for insomnia.

Don't tell me you wouldn't love to see Burley back, if you did I know you'd be lying

Certainly would love the Burley of yesteryear - but you have the risk of him being out of the game for a while. Paul Jewell, for example. Would Burley still have it? Maybe Would fans give him more than a season to get it right? Probably not When you combine the two questions, you get: Despite being out of practice, would he be able to 'do a job' in just one season? Highly doubt it Let the man go down a legend, not as a false savior.
