Injuries - Continues to be our biggest issue 19:54 - Nov 29 with 966 viewskizaitfc

We finally think we have found our best team and then injuries strike. Has happened with Burns, Coulson, Fraserburgh and Chaplin throughout the season.

This seems to be a constant issue at this club, It obviously happens to other teams but we just seem to find it impossible to keep a first 11 fit for more than 2 games

Not surprising for 2 reasons.

1.. pitch has been sht for years now.
2. You get what you pay for in some cases. But can also be unlucky with others.

Really don't think we can be blaming injuries.

Getting a team to gel you need a consistent team.

Cook has said himself he doesn't like to make loads of changes he likes to find his 11 and use them for most games of the season.

Through bad performances and injuries Cook has been unable to settle on a team

At this level you rarely see any sides putting out the same 11.

We've had cup games and played kids. Then moaned about lack of gelling time....

I think cup games we need to be playing the youngsters.

Especially given the issue of injuries why would you risk your first 11 to play in a cup game

He changes the 'behind the front 3' literally every match, regardless of performances OR injuries.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Because as you say you want games to get players upto speed.

I remember the better days. No matter what cup. You knew we were going to have strongest side out. No matter what cup..what game..

Disagree with this.

Burns has had injuries, Chaplin had an injury when he was a regular, Aluko had injuries then the sad passing of his dad. Edwards was dropped for not performing.

As I said Paul Cook has said he doesn't want to rotate he wants to play one team

To be fair to Cook he did do this against Oldham and the team didn't perform.

The majority of the team has been consistent. Walton, Donacien, Edmundson, and Nsiala have made up 4 of the back 5 for ages. Morsy and Evans have partnered regularly. Bonne is more or less ever present. Chaplin missed like one game with back spasms. Celina has been available more or less since he joined. It's a nonsense to pin our current predicament on injuries to any extent let alone to say that injuries have been our biggest issue.

An absolute nonsense of an excuse in my opinion. We’ve got the biggest and ‘best’ or at least most expensively assembled squad in the league. We should be better placed to cope with injuries than anyone.

Then, relative to many in the league we haven’t had many injuries anyway. Oxford have had 12 out the last two games and got a win and then a draw against top of the league. Sunderland have 9 out including all their fullbacks and won at Cambridge.

It’s just more excuses.

....adding injuries to the list of reasons why Cook is an absolute failure.

This is not in any way an unusual amount of injuries. On average a professional football squad of 25 racks up about 50 injuries during a season, which is about 6 or 7 a month.

Having only 2 first team players out, as we do at present, is really good.
