Demolition man part 2 10:53 - Dec 2 with 935 views | hunty21 | Lets assume cook is given another transfer window, previous history has shown hes not afraid to ship players out that have been recently signed who could be vulnerable to this position? Harper? Burgess? Pigott?

Demolition man part 2 on 10:57 - Dec 2 with 886 views | BlueySwede | On the other hand he hadn´t signed the players he shipped out in the summer. Getting rid of the mentioned players would be harsh on them, they have hardly been given a chance. I´m thinking more Norwood, Nolan, Kenlock, maybe Woolf, I would have thought Jackson but then he surprised me with a good display yesterday.

Not to kiss your little arse, but for someone who's so scrupulously measured, its interesting how balls deep you've gone on this. Obviously, I have no way to know what's right / wrong from the outside - just an observation. Edit: reading that back, there's a homoerotic twist to this post! Too late now, but I''m honestly not coming onto you! [Post edited 2 Dec 2021 11:03]

Demolition man part 2 on 11:13 - Dec 2 with 812 views | ArnieM | I don’t think it’ll be demolition man per sa, but Cook did say in the summer, that you get players in based on data analysis and expect / hope they reproduce when you’ve signed them. History has shown that Cook at his other clubs has no qualms about offloading those very players again, if they don’t produce the goods. He did it at Portsmouth and one other club I believe. I’ve already listed in another thread the players that haven’t really shown up very well since being here for one reason or another. It wouldn’t surprise me if he repeats his strategy here. He’s looking to create a cohesive squad/ team… like it or not it takes more than one window of activity. Hence the need for patience. The issue will be, will the owners display that patience or will they move Cook on. If they do the latter, that in itself has repercussions in the form of yet more upheaval. History shows time and again clubs that continually chop and change rarely prosper. But appreciate that there will always come a time when change has to happen. I’d suggest it’s too early for that to happen at Town. Who says we HAVE to get promoted THIS season, if the LONG TERM objective is to build a sound base and structure at the Club?

That would be quite the statement if he were to get rid of say, Piggot, given he's had to apologise to him for not enough minutes and to not play him even though our current first choice striker hasn't scored in 5 games.

^ "Who says we HAVE to get promoted THIS season" ^ I do. With our new owners' summer investment, anything less would be abject failure.

Demolition man part 2 on 11:35 - Dec 2 with 701 views | pennblue | Well look at this way, his job, and his reputation is on the line here. List down the players that he is able to trust: Walton Jd Edmuson Morsy Connor Burns Bonne Aluko That is 8 players you can 'count' on, and 1 of them is out injured (Burns) and Bonne is misfiring currently. So you only have 6 players you can rely on. [Post edited 2 Dec 2021 11:48]

Then given the wholesale changes at this Club from the bottom to the top, sadly I’d suggest you are unrealistic in your expectations ( like a good many others), and fail to recognise the true impact of those changes. We’ll agree to differ ….

I completely agree with this! Our club was rotten to the core and so needed an entire rebuild from the ground up. We now have owners who are willing to invest in the club both on and off the pitch which is something we as fans have been crying out for for years! There has to be a bit of patience around expectation, yes the results and the performances of late havent been good enough however unlike previous Jan transfer windows I expect us to be busy again signing players to improve us in the second half of the season. IF we fail to get promoted this season I don't see it as complete failure as it is clear that we are building from the ground up to create something that can compete in the Championship and potentially the Premiership which is where we all want to be.

It's alright Ulla, we're not related. Yes, the only other manager I was this adamant wasn't working early on was Hurst. FWIW, I had doubts about Cook based on last season and felt he needed a good start this season to make up for that. That obviously never happened but I think we might have got over that had we built on a decent October and the win at Wycombe; we failed to do that and now need a very big upturn in results to achieve sixth.
