The Vaccine effect on saving lives 15:14 - Dec 2 with 772 viewsbournemouthblue

Hi guys, I've made the mistake of debating the vaccine with anti-vaxxers

Always a mistake

I'm sure someone had shared graphs the other day which showed the massive drop in deaths as the vaccine kicked in

Does anyone have any of these graphs they can share?

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

If they are actual proper anti-vaxxers rather than contrarians then I would say it's almost pointless debating with them.

They are like the flat earthers who keep redesigning their own experiment because it keeps telling them the Earth is round.

Bonkers.

That is relatively harmless, unfortunately anti-vaxxers are extremely harmful.

They'll simply tell you the graphs are faked.

Looking at that, 75% seems to be the lowest point at which anything approaching herd immunity looks possible.

Mullet Gtsb Blue badger Bloots N2 Blue ITFC Joe …and the rest. Do you not understand that these forums have massive sway these days? You’ve killed it. We may go on to bigger better things, who knows? Your bitching and whining on here is picked up and has a massive ripple effect. Fking knobs the lot of you. For weeks you’ve been stamping your feet like little girls and it gets picked up when all you needed to do was ride it out for a bit. Pathetic. Cook always comes good, he always has done, talk to any Pompey, Wigan or Chesterfield fan. I’m in Pompey tonight and they’re all shaking their heads. Dkheads the lot of you. Happy to get banned on the back of this. You’re ridiculous. The ramifications are massive which may be placated with money but fk me; learn to kick a ball and know what you’re talking about before you lash out in anger. A massive shame and a massive shame on you. Cook is working hard. What are you doing other than idly pointing fingers and drawing on nonsense stats. Nothing but contempt for you lot and your baseless insights into football when you’ve never even kicked a ball.

Is herd immunity even possible? Given vaccinated people can get delta (and it looks more likely they can get Omicron easier) there virus will always be circulating in decent volumes thus if you aren't jabbed you are at risk of serious illness.

Herd immunity only works when the vaccinated population can't pass on the virus and thus the chances of the unvaccinated coming across it is very small.

Would be interesting to know more about the apparent outliers near the bottom. Are they very effectively locked down or under-reporting deaths or some other explanation?

I saw a flat earthers documentary a few months ago. I thought the majority of people were quite endearing. Most of them were just lonely, stubborn and dim in different dilutions.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

Yep.

Mostly harmless.

Except the one fleecing them all.
