He talks well, he's experienced with working with the youth and he knows the importance of fans.
I respect that he seems like an underwhelming choice for many, but he doesn't come across as clueless. The important thing - Harris used to be a striker, not a defender.
It is also worth mentioning that NH's 2016/2017 season saw Millwall finish 6th in the league. As a L1 team they also beat Bournemouth, Watford, and Leicester in the FA Cup - all three teams being in the premier league.
He might not actually be as bad an appointment as a fair few seem to believe.

Not as "glamorous" or as Town-connected as some of the names being bandied around.
People also seem to be looking now for a manager who can take us to winning the Championship in one fell swoop. Probably because they dislike the anti-ITFC feel of casually swapping coaches like changing gear between bursts of acceleration.

Tho one would hope that forms part of the interview process. The commitment to a style which suits the squad and the club's ethos, rather than reverting to something agricultural which won't work anyway with the tools immediately to hand.

Maybe that's the style when all he had was players with limited ability.
As with MM, when he had players with McGoldrick's quality fit and available, the football was better than when he didn't. I am sure a large part of why his football was so negative was the lack of investment and the realisation that financially we had become the underdogs at that level.

Cardiff ?
He didn't have long there really did he? 62 games, the bulk of which was with a squad that got relegated from the Premier League the season before. He did an alright job there but they were probably expected to make the top 6 before the season started. And his second season didn't go particularly well hence getting the boot.

Aged 44 already 5/6 years experience And still learning. A decent record as a player And with promotions under his belt. Maybe we do need to mix it up have a bit more grit not be such a soft touch. Maybe play with two up front we are not playing Man City or Liverpool. So certainly not the worst candidate

We have to be smarter with our appointments and not flip flop. It’s what the well run clubs do at this level or as I’ve said we will more than likely end up having to give away players as they will be ineffective at playing a Harris style of football.
If that’s the way we want to go long term, that’s fine but we will write off a lot players who we got in the last window.

People on here have moaned about Ainsworth from Wycombe and his football. Harris’ style is from the same mould. If he gets the job I’ll support him and tbf he might do well which is what we all Want but the football will be terrible in terms of style.

He for me doesn’t fit the stated ambition of the owners for me. There’s been all this talk about what they are going to do, they’ve put some structure into the club, done some good things, then bring in what feels like a Poundland manager. It all feels a bit shambolic.
However ‘seems’ and ‘feels’ are probably way off reality and more of a reflection of my disappointment in what is likely to be yet another poor season.
In the cold light of day, I hope whoever gets the job gets support and a bit more patience than Cook received. He will certainly get mine.

Do you think that may be the way he set up to play because those were the types of players he had at his disposal? I am not arguing your point for the sake of argument - but given his short career in management, he may not be as set in his ways tactically.

You only have to look at the way Walton wants to release the ball quickly and hoof it up to Bonne at every given opportunity to realise that we are not really a passing team….
