How many more nails in the coffin… on 18:24 - Jan 10 by GlasgowBlue
The Cummings take on this is a little odd.
The party I was at was not a party. The parties I wasn’t at were parties. The prime minister should’ve listened to me. This blog is a couple of weeks late because I was trying to work out how I could say I was at a party that wasn’t a party. I should be appointed benevolent dictator.
Cummings is a horrible individual who is very much responsible for much of what this party has done and stands for.
The fact he is now very much opposed to them is just a little ironic. It should be no surprise that he is still a hypocrite.
The problem is the party loses/gets rid of Cummings/Johnson whoever (the latter will be well times to be close to the next election) and then blames everything on them and says trust the party we are alright really, it was just them. Utterly depressing especially that sufficient of the electorate accept that and will not hold them to account for anything that they will retain power.

The Conservative Party exists for the sole reason to hold power. It's why they have been ruthless over the years in removing a leader who is seen as an electoral liability. Labour don't have that same ruthless streak (see the dithering over getting rid of Gordon Brown and replacing him with David Miliband in 2009).
For this reason, Johnson will be gone before the next election. The only problem these days is that the members get a say in who leads the party rather than a group of men in grey suits. This can throw up some absolute stinkers such as IDS.

Johnson and the Leave/Conservative Right re-inventing themselves as anti-establishment is one of the greatest tricks ever pulled.
That’s Cummings’s work. But there’s an element of truth in it, because the centre-right establishment around Blair, Clegg, Cameron and the self-satisfied middle class and their journalists that nod along to everything have been utterly shyte. They’ve talked about what the UK needs but they’ve really only been talking about their own interests for the past few decades.
That lazy self-centred ignorance created a disillusioned, disenfranchised void waiting to be exploited. Much in the same way Trump did in the US.
And really pretty predictable if you haven’t yourself been nodding along the whole time.

You (and others) may find this interesting.
Don't bother if you've got a short attention span.

Yes, it is us the liberal metropolitan elite, especially those who sneer.
because that is what the right wing press (Mail, Express and Sun) have pumped out for year after year. The establishment that's who - shades of blaming the Jews and Pol Pots Year Zero. Never mind it was the lecturers, doctors, journalists, teachers, the 'intelligentsia' if you must. They were to blame for you not being able to get on.
Whereas 'your better's, the real wealthy, the Rees-Moggs. Ian Duncan-Smiths, Goldsmiths are really your friends. Share common interests. And when you give them your vote they will make things better for you (though why they hadn't in the previous 9 years is not explained).
And as the promises fail to be delivered we no longer here anything of this supposed elite. As with Animal Farm so the words have been amended. The hidden enemy is no longer this elite by the 'woke'. Who at every turn are trying to impose their will upon you. Ban your culture, No more Chubby Brown. Sensationalist stories about how immigrants are staying at the Ritz.
Same old distraction. Identify a section of society and demonise them. It will certainly stop you from asking why they are still unable to take up the jobs all those naughty foreigners used to do. Why the Northern Powerhouse Rail is no more, or that levelling up plans are being scaled back (dropped).
Perhaps your well heeled chums, like the pigs in Animal farm blaming every failure on the previous farmer, it will be us metropolitan elites who are to blame....sneering, or not
