Car insurance comparison sites 22:49 - Feb 1 with 1493 views | Pendejo | Just at the start of covid in 2020 my wife fell ill, in retrospect, covid type symptoms. At the time I was working 12:00 til 21:00 and rushing home, on two occasions this rushing was a little vigorous and was caught on average speed cameras on 2 consecutive nights. M4 where it drops from 60 to 40 mph, engine braking, honest.. This came on top of a previous spell of over enthusiastic driving, which meant my 2021 car insurance premium went up almost 100%. And that was taking a black box policy. 2022 renewal is around the corner, current insurer came up with a number, and I'd started receiving kind reminders from the comparison sites... Quotezone - £1,500+ Current Insurer £908 Compare the market £865 Confused £785 I was just about to sign up when I thought I'd give go compare a bash... £610, used them again for breakdown cover £35 with a deefacto 5 star rated supplier. Maybe I should have tried Moneysupermarket.... Fair that's 30+ yrs driving exp, no fault claims, inner London post code, 13,000 miles inc. Commuting oh and 9points. Many thanks go compare you've saved me a packet!

Car insurance comparison sites on 09:32 - Feb 2 with 1212 views | PassionNotAnger | Not a surprise, this year more than any it's going to be key to shop around as the market is split on approaches. New legislation came into force on 1st Jan which means insurers can no longer charge a different amount at renewal as they would for a new quote (like for like risk) - thats intended to stop price inflation for customers who renew each year. This year though some insurers have decided that rather than losing out on additional premiums at renewal (as renewed customers generally have much lower claims frequency) they are, instead pushing up prices of new quotes instead. Other insurers are just doing the opposite (and what legislation intended) and discounting renewals to the levels they should be. It means there will be huge cost variances this year between insurers. For anyone left that does just renew annually or has been with a company for more than 2 years - you really really should get alternative quotes this year - the difference forecast for some is mind-boggling - some scenario's show mid 30's drivers with good record (no claims/points) who've been with same insurer for 3 years could be paying almost double the new business quote rates and "should" get a pleasant surprise at renewal (depending on approach their insurer takes)
Car insurance comparison sites on 10:04 - Feb 2 with 1181 views | DMDC | I saved £70 just looking at comparison sites, not as much as you,but then my insurance was no where near what you were paying. It really does help to shop around. Did it with house and content insurance as well as car and saved a packet.

It's a yearly dance you have to perform. I get a quote through, ring up and then within a minute they've reduced it by £50-£70. I don't even bother with a getting a quote from elsewhere. It's scandalous really they don't just provide their best price to begin with but then I guess there are more than you'd care to imagine that just pay what they are originally quoted, no questions asked.

Yes lve done the dance the last few years. I always say to my Mrs why cant they just give the best price from the start ?. They should be made to really. How much must they be making out of people ? My building and contents insurance halved in price when l got on their case.
Car insurance comparison sites on 10:24 - Feb 2 with 1137 views | Bent_double | I changed my car last week, so phoned the insurers (Churchill) to update the policy - £50 extra, it runs out in a month anyway. They sent the renewal through today - £440 for the full year, but I've already been on moneysupermarket.com and got quotes for just over half that amount, so looks like it's time to ditch Churchill, although no doubt they will come back with a discount price when I tell them I'm leaving.

For the first time last year since I've been driving (11 years) I stayed with the same company. Me and the missus both have a car each, plus our home insurance with them and whilst our initial renewal quote was high, having told them I could switch to Aviva and save ourselves our fortune, they proceeded to beat their quote, and then some. Have found these past 3-4 years that having all our insurances together, has made us get substantial discounts then doing them all separately.

Car insurance comparison sites on 13:50 - Feb 2 with 1041 views | HARRY10 | A tip - check the excess Often with a bit of'jiggling', clearing the cookies you can get this down to almost nothing. You will notice when you have a claim, how much this costs Took me yonks to get my brother to let me check for him. £72 saved for around a half hour of sorting it out. I know he is not on £140 an hour, so maybe that's the most he hs 'earned' for somewhile. The sooner you renew, the cheaper it often is. They are no daft. If you need car insurance tomorrow then you are 'desperate'. Have managed to get recovery etc included for £38. Bit of a bind checking but saving around £100 for less than an hours work seems a fair use of that time.
