Really hope Town continue with Adidas. I no I bias but think our kits are one of the best out there at present. Any rumours what brand it’s likely to be yet ?

Big three stripes fan but wouldn’t be too sad if we tried something new.

Maybe a company with greener credentials who won’t waste resources on a new set of shirts every 3 months? Brentford have stepped up, we should do the same.

Wouldn't be averse to more Adidas, have a feeling it might be Under Armour though.

As long as it's not Macron or Castore.

Its better than Punch or Core thats for sure.

I must admit I find the fit pretty poor on the current kit.

I wouldnt mind someone like Macron, they make some nice European kits.

Not heard anything, Bristol City had gone with Hummel under Ashton so may be a relationship there

I'd be happy to stick with Adidas as there gear is good quality, if you wear shirts from some other brands they are designed for super fit athletes

Hummel would be brilliant. I think we should try something a bit left field if not, we are too small for Adidas and don’t really get much from them so something less cookie cutter would do

I Like Hummel, don't find Kappa too bad, but their shirts are always super tight and I don't have the figure for them these days, or any days for that matter.

You going to MK Mullers, if so I'll be milling around if you fancy a beer

Would love to now I know that, but alas not. Cash and parenting duties prevent it. There are too many northern games soon due to the bizarre fixture list this season

I know a lot of people like Hummel but I can't stand their kits for style or feel. Same problem with Castore and Macron for me, not something I would want to buy. I'd be happy with Adidas or Umbro. Keep it simple.

I like hummell defo, and I like what kappa are doing at the moment too.

Though my dream would be a lotto kit, probably have to time travel to get the best of them.

Also, given certain town fans bias against premium italian sports wear it might not go down so well...

I had a cracking pair of lotto boots years ago. But I think they’re no longer the same company.

Even Joma have come a long way in ten years or so but I dunno if there will be some sort of commercial focus at the club meaning a decision is already made?

Fair enough, totally understand, especially with little ones, this will be my boys first away game, and given that we don't have many near us this is one of the closest, all the London one's seem to be midweek under the lights.

I'm sure we'll catch up at somepoint, hopefully Wembley in May....

Yeah I would be curious to know the process behind kit manufacturers signing clubs, particularly league 1. I don't imagine there's too many Nike and Puma execs knocking down our door to sign us up, but who knows.

Any football kit insiders out there/err on this board with the lowdown I'd love to hear!

I'm a bit agnostic on Hummel.

They do turn out some good stuff, but it does appear that there's a bit of a two-tier system at Hummel HQ as far as quality is concerned. I'm not convinced that ITFC would have sufficient cachet to warrant their better-quality stuff.

If we were to move away from a brand with a reputation for quality, such as Adidas etc., I'd much rather we went down the independent route (a bit like Bristol City did with Bristol Sport). There are some fantastic independent designers out there these days, and I'm sure it would be possible to marry them up with a good-quality non-brand manufacturer to come up with something really worthwhile.

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.

Didn't we try that with Punch? Wasn't a huge fan but appreciate time has changed and the independent stuff is probably much better these days

I'll agree that some of the Punch/Core designs either weren't particularly good in the first place, or have aged badly, but a lot of them were fashionable at the time and/or are still looked back upon fondly.

I'll grant that the material was pretty naff on a few of the shirts, but I'd hazard a guess that the quality available to an independent manufacturer is probably a lot better than it was.

There's zero chance that any independent company wouldn't use manufacturers in india, bangladesh, china etc were we to use them. You'll be chucking out 90% of your wardrobe if thats your stance.

Also a massive over simplifaction to suggest 'nike use sweatshops'. The entire clothing industry is built on cheap labour in china and the global south, its often not great but its not neccesarily slave labour. These countries also have proper industries built over decades with the experience, technology, etc to sustain it so its not just the labour costs thats cheap, its the scale and quality theyve got too.

Its just global capitalism really, you could probably get a 100% ethical replica shirt to eg UK NMW, decent quality materials but it would cost £150 easy

I'm sorry but it would cost an awful lot more. Look at your average football shirt, multiple panels stichted together, lots of trim, designs printed on/in the weave of the material in many cases. They're complex garments.

Assuming you can find one, start paying the factory staff something approaching a UK wage you're doubling manufacturing costs right there with ease and thats not even thinking about the mills who make the base materials.

I believe manufacturers take a fair chunk of the profit its true but what company isn't going to do that. Its extremely complex but the idea that oh nike are gouging profits and ripping us off, people came out with that in the 1990s and it wasnt that simple then.

Umbro might be a good shout. They recently made a big splash by designing specific shirts for England Women's Rugby. Given the success of our women's team perhaps they 'd consider something similar here?

I didn't know about that but having looked into it, that range is pretty impressive. Would be good to see us thinking about something like that given the good feeling around the women's side. I've found that most of Umbro's kits tend to strike a good balance between traditional and creative.
