Biggest since Inter Milan? Biggest in the league since when do we reckon? I don't think a figure for the Swindon game in 1999 was every confirmed.

Shefki scored a sublime little touch for the winner..we didn’t bother with our seats behind the goal and stood on the sidelines and changed ends for the second half…nice pic in the Star of my daughter celebrating the goal..😃

Wasn't that when George Burley had just taken over as Derby manager, and Clough was given the keys to the kingdom of Derby or something...and we tonked them good and proper.

That's right. Cloughie was given the Freedom of the City or some such thing. He got a standing ovation from the whole crowd - even us. Not sure if GB was their boss, but possibly. We battered them.

under 12's for free will be bumping the number no end.

if this was a normal game id probably have driven with a mate or two..... as it is im going with my wife, sister, 2 daughters and niece and nephew.

bit of a random family day out, but hey, hopefully they'll love it

I was going to take my eldest and a mate with his Dad but ended up just going 4 of us which is a bit of a shame in a way.

ALso, think so many as it is close - 2 hours is a trek for some teams but for Ipswich it feels close

Don't think it was a particularly large following but how many did we take to Birmingham in league cup semi in 2001? - the one with the pitch they destroyed trying to thaw it out!
I remember being sat in the lower tier and getting pelted by stuff from the Brummies above in upper tier. And it was bloody freezing!

It really is incredible support. Coventry taking 8k there is great but us taking slightly less than that with the trains down is better.

Coventry to MK is what 45mins on a direct train (assuming of course they were running that day).

Took a load up to Wigan once, mid 2000's? We had the whole of the stand along the pitch. Must be been 4-5k there, pretty sure we lost. Jim was boss I think.

I have 3 memories of that Swindon match..... on 09:26 - Feb 11 with 651 viewsBloots

.....1. Having 4 cans of beer poured down the drain by an over zealous copper.

2. Not being allowed to take my "We Hate Norwich" flag into the ground.

3. The stewards having to open the vehicle gates for "Big Martin" because he couldn't fit through the turnstiles.

Royle was boss - it was year we fell away from automatic promotion and Wigan went up.

Think it was about 4k.

MK did allow bigger followings, buy as Phil says in one of the articles, the local SAG capped it at just over 7k due to trouble they had with 8k plus Wolves fans.

Can remember the drive home from that.... thick fog all the way home, and couldn't drive more than 40 mph all the way, didn't get back until almost 3am and wife rang me worried something had happened.

It was not a fund drive back. Think we were more like 1:30 getting back but the wing mirrors on my brother's car were icing up

guess between 3 and 4k - they didn't give us the whole lower tier.

Horrible night and I was absolutely gutted at the end.

I think the worst part was that when Scowy scored we were ahead on away goals. Then we conceded again very shortly afterwards.

Horrendous night on all levels wasn't it. I missed my train back to uni and ended up sleeping in New Street station waiting room because i helped a disabled man out of the ground who was being ignored by stewards

I'm still a bit scarred by it 20 years on!
